Author's Notes: Er, mild spoilers for those who have yet to watch 24. I got tired of writing angst and chose to write something silly. Three guesses on what Haji's drinking. XD
"He has fangs," said Kai, to no one in particular.
"Of course, he has fangs," Saya replied, loftily. "He is a Chiropteran, isn't he? He's bound to have fangs."
"He better not fang me while I'm asleep," Kai asserted.
"He has better control than that," Saya said, peevishly. "What about Riku?"
"How would you know? You're asleep just like us during the night," argued Kai. "And leave Riku out," he added.
"He wouldn't," she said, confidently. "He's much too kind for that."
"I wouldn't use the word kind for him," scoffed Kai.
"Just because he doesn't show it, doesn't mean he isn't," Saya said, crossly.
"You can tell from that expression?" Kai sounded amazed.
Saya huffed at him, crossing her arms across her chest, looking downright cross that she had lost the debate. Kai wore a triumphant expression on his face, as if he had just hit a home run.
Riku, sitting quietly by them, heaved the largest sigh ever, and sipped from his cup of tea. He forlornly wished it was blood, though.
Joel, passing by them with David, gave them a quizzical look, and then raised an eyebrow at David by the way of question, wondering what the siblings were arguing about.
"Haji," said David, in a way of explanation.
"Oh." Joel nodded, understanding, and they went their way.
The subject of the debate merely lifted the mug up to his mouth and took a long drink from the contents inside.
There was a moment of silence where they could hear the waves lapping against the ship and the sound of the distant seagulls.
Then, "He drinks blood."
The loud wail of, "KAI!" could be heard throughout the whole ship.
