RELiC's Notes

Title: Exactly What He Needs

Rating: K+

Fandom: Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, AU.

Pairing:Kurogane/Tomoyo

Summary: Sometimes, instead of getting angry on the highway or beating up kickboxing bags, all you really need is a simple little thing.

Warnings: Brief use of swear words. CSI inspired, because when I watched CSI: Miami it gave me an idea, and I thought Kurogane could be a coroner.

Enjoy!

Kurogane wasn't a very huggy person. Nor did he really enjoy cuddling, but he would oblige Tomoyo whenever she was in need of comfort or was in a rather romantic mood. His hugs comprised of one armed shoulder grips to his close friends and the classic manly hand grip and back slap. Rarely did Kurogane feel the need to curl up with Tomoyo like she was so fond of doing with him. However, there were days where he felt like hell had frozen over and he was doomed to eternity dealing with people who were insanely stupid. Occasionally Kurogane would burn off his anger and utter "I give up" state by driving over to the gym after work and beating up the kickboxing bags.

He supposed this was the payback he got for choosing a career where he had to deal with the world's craziest people. All he wanted to do was deal with the bodies because they would never talk back. But with bodies, came people, and those people asked a million questions and expected him know everything. Well, at least he actually managed to get off his shift early. Maybe that blue eyed idiotic detective really did give a damn about him.

Somehow, his early departure from work did not help with his frustration. Nor did the massive traffic jam on the highway that made him want to roll down his window and scream holy hell to the person in front of him. But Kurogane refrained for doing so, because he had a better alternative in mind.

So as soon as he parked his car and entered his house, Kurogane made a beeline straight where he knew Tomoyo would be. She was standing in the kitchen, still wearing her work jacket, sorting through a pile of mail. When she heard him come in she turned around, surprised he was home so early. Tomoyo was about to greet him but Kurogane beat her to it. He threw his car keys on the kitchen counter and engulfed Tomoyo in a hug. She stumbled backwards a little at the force of his bear hug embrace, wrapping her arms around him to keep her balance. Kurogane settled his head on top of hers; clearly signaling he was not interested in letting Tomoyo go any time soon.

"Crappy day at work?" Tomoyo asked her voice muffled in his shoulder. Kurogane closed his eyes and did not respond for a moment. He could feel himself calming as he ran a hand through her long dark hair, and he realized vaguely this was what Tomoyo wanted to feel like when she would cuddle up to him.

"Yeah," Kurogane mumbled finally, sighing as he spoke. He felt Tomoyo stroke his back in comfort and her other arm pulling him closer, and Kurogane sighed as he relaxed in her arms.

Yes, Kurogane had to admit- although not aloud-this was exactly what he needed.
