Author's Note: Just something I came up with while I was making dinner. For some reason, I was thinking of Drarry while chopping some onions. ^_^
Draco was late once more. He knew the moment he walked into the house that he was going to get yelled at…again. He waited hesitantly in front of the closed door to their home for another five minutes before taking a deep breath and finally opening the door.
"Baby, I'm home!" he yelled out.
He waited for his lover to walk in and start screaming, but it never came; Draco walked into the living room but still saw no sign of him.
"Harry?"
He stood still and heard soft crying coming from the kitchen. Fearing that Harry was hurt, Draco tried to temper down the swelling of alarm as he rushed towards the kitchen.
"Harry!"
Draco saw Harry turning away, and wiped his face. This is the first time Harry's cried because I'm home late thought Draco.
"Oh, baby," Draco called as he hurried over and embraced him.
"I'm so sorry for coming home late again. I'll be sure to come home early from now on. That's why I hired a new manager, so he can take the burden off my hands, and I can be home with you more often. Please, don't cry anymore," he pleaded.
"I promise we'll go on vacation next month during your off season. I'm sure your coach wouldn't mind," he offered, but when it produced no response from the brunet, he continued.
"Uh, I promise we won't go to the Manor for dinner tomorrow. I know how much you hate doing that and you tolerate it just for me. Just please, stop crying. I don't like to see you hurt."
Draco kissed the top of Harry's head and waited for him to calm down and say something, anything. But when he felt Harry's shoulder shaking, he noticed Harry wasn't sobbing at all. He was laughing instead.
"Draco," Harry murmured as he looked up, "I wasn't crying, love. Okay, maybe I still am," he amended as he dabbed at a stray tear, "but I was just trying to cut some onions for dinner." Harry pointed at the cutting board and chopped onions on the counter and smiled.
"Cutting onions?" Draco repeated blankly, feeling suddenly foolish for his outburst.
"Yep," Harry replied brightly, as he gave Draco a chaste kiss. "But, I will take you up on your offer for a holiday next month and no dinner with your parents tomorrow," said Harry and turned back to finish his task without another word.
"Oh, Harry," sighed Draco. He wrapped his arms around Harry's waist and rested his forehead against his lover's neck.
"If I knew this could get me out of the dinner with your parents, Draco, maybe I should put onions in every meal."
