Lucy arranged the pitcher and plastic cups on the table next to the basket of muffins, beaming when everyone came in.
"Since we're doing a breakfast session before the big exams, I thought we'd focus better with some healthy breakfast in us." Lucy smiled.
Cole kissed her cheek. "There's my boo, always thoughtful."
"Drew? You want some tang?" she asked, and his head shot up.
"Um... I... ah..."
But, then he saw that she was holding a cup of orange liquid out to him.
"Oh!" he flushed. "Yeah, thanks..." he said, taking it.
"Sorry it's not the fresh stuff; my fridge went on the fritz." she said cluelessly.
Cole, meanwhile, was laughing into his fist.
"That's... that's cool." Drew managed.
"Hey, Luce, what kind of muffins are these?" Maya asked through a bite.
"Cherry. I get tired of blueberry all the time."
"They're good." Maya nodded.
But, Trang's eyebrows went up.
"You have... cherries... in your muffin..." he smirked.
Cole knit his brows at him, his mouth in a growly frown.
"Oh, are you allergic?" Lucy asked worriedly.
"No, I'd love to have your cherry muffin in my mouth." Trang blurted.
Maya's eyes bugged at him.
"Well... basket's right there..." Lucy said, confused, looking at him oddly.
Cole, however, was glaring at him, fist clenched at his side. Drew noticed and whispered, "Dude, let it go..."
Cole made the "I'm watching you" motion with two fingers towards Trang and walked Lucy possessively towards a spot where he sat down, half hiding her from view.
"Okay, we should get- ahem- started." Drew said, and yanked open his book. "Let's open chapter seven, I think that's where we'll find the information about the vena cava... "
Everyone started flipping pages furiously, and the sound of moving paper was only interrupted by Trang's audible and overly dramatic "Mmmm..."
"Dude!" Cole burst out.
"What?" Trang smirked, baiting him. "Just enjoying your girlfriend's muffin..." he taunted. "Oh, look, the cherry..." he said, flicking his tongue towards it.
And, Cole leapt across the table at him, landing on him.
"Cole!" Lucy called out worriedly.
"Oh, he deserves it." Maya dismissed. "Wank, always checking out some other girl's arse..."
But, Cole didn't punch him. He sat on his chest, reached over for the muffin basket, and started breaking muffins over his head.
"Gonna talk like that around my shorty again?"
"Nmmph..." Trang mumbled.
He stood up, brushing himself off.
"Okay, let's get our study on, babydoll." Cole said calmly, sitting down next to her and putting an arm around her.
Lucy's eyes shone with love and she leaned up and kissed him, her leg going over his to straddle him a little, and Cole's hands instinctively went to her waist. Pulling back after a moment, realizing there were other people in the room, Cole panted a bit.
"Or, we could do it later." he said, and tossed Lucy over his shoulder, rushing out of the room with her...
