The Flood (TV Story for un-known Doctor)

This is an overview of a TV version of the 8th Doctor comic story 'The Flood'. The plot is similar but has major differences. The Doctor is said to be the 14th Doctor (but in fact it could be any Doctor in the future). Please leave a review and tell me what you think!

Background information about the series so far:

At the beginning of the series we met Amethyst in an invasion led by the Celestial Toymaker in 1948, who animated children's toys. During the invasion, the Doctor met Amethyst and thus, needing a companion, the Doctor invited he onboard the TARDIS. Later, in the series, approximately episode 5, the Doctor got captured by a secret department of the British government in the year 1998, who tested the Doctor for his alien features. This secret department of the Government, which is part of MI5, was lead by a man called Leighton Woodrow. In around episode 7, Amethyst gets badly injured and must have her eye replaced with superior alien technology from the 32nd Century.

Episode 8: 'Pub Lunch'

The Doctor and Amethyst (a female companion from 1948, who stumbled into the TARDIS thinking that it was a real police box at the beginning of the series.) arrive in 21st Century London, and after parking the TARDIS in a back-alley near MI5, the Doctor takes Amethyst to Camden market thinking that they have returned to 1962 London. However, soon they realise that they are in a different period. Whilst the Doctor and Amethyst revel at the sights and wonders of Camden market (Amethyst remaking at the use of mirror-lights (Smart-phones)), the camera pans out to reveal two mysterious figures staring at the Doctor and Amethyst, we hear one of them mutter to the other, 'That's him, the TARDIS must be around here somewhere, I'll go look for it while you go follow him'. When the camera returns to Amethyst and the Doctor, he remarks to her about going to a pub which she agrees with, wanting to see how much it has changed in over 65 years. When they arrive in the pub the Doctor bumps into one of the men who was watching him earlier. In the confusion, the agent places a metal recording device on the doctor. However, the Doctor seems puzzled by the man, thinking he knew him – however the agent denies everything. When the Doctor returns to the table with Amethyst, she asks him about the metal device on him thinking that it must have come from the man who bumped into him (as she has no knowledge of what it could be). We cut to another scene with Leighton Woodrow, who has considerably aged since the last time we saw him (almost 20 years have passed) and he is listening into the conversation that the Doctor is having. Then the Doctor realises that he has been tracked and chases after the agent. When he catches him, he interrogates him, discovering that the agent works for Leighton Woodrow. However, mid-conversation, Amethyst sees some 'metal men' and asks the Doctor what they are, as even she can see that they are out of place. However, no-body else can see anything. They start walking towards the Doctor, so Amethyst pulls a gun that was on the table from the Agent's pockets and shoots at them, making them visible to everyone. They are slenderer and more modern than in previous designs. The cybermen cause everyone to flee, including the Doctor, Amethyst and the Agent (now he shall be known as 'Tony'. The Doctor explains to Tony and Amethyst who they are when they manage to get away from the pub. Tony radios the other agent 'Brian' and asks him about the TARDIS, who proceeds to tell him that it is all safe, however behind Brian we see a cyberman who is controlling all of Brian's speech. When the Doctor and gang arrive at the TARIDS, they are surrounded by Cybermen and the end credits roll…
