A loud scream.
That's all it took for the detective of the group to stop what they are doing and run towards the commotion. As an afterthought, the newly returned Shinichi Kudo barked his orders for the girls to stay where they are.
Ran looked worriedly at the disappearing figure of her boyfriend when she heard the other girl spoke softly to her. "He will come back," Shiho told her. "He always finds a way to come back to you." For a moment, Ran saw a flash of emotion on Shiho Miyano's face; heartbroken.
Shakily, Ran addressed Shiho Miyano, "You.."
"Are you…" She tried again "in love with him?"
Shiho stopped in her tracks and looked at Ran Mouri blankly. Though in her mind she is recalled the first time she was asked this question.
"Are you in love with him?" Ayumi Yoshida had asked her.
"So what if I am?" Ai Haibara replied.
"Does it matter?" she replied.
A wide and panicked look crossed Ayumi's face. " Then I'll be in trouble." Taking pity on the child Haibara simply stated. "I don't see him that way"
" It matters to me." Ran answered.
Shiho took her time and chose her words carefully. " Shinichi-kun..." a soft smile appeared on her face. "He saved me, freed me from my cage, and the life that I live now is all thanks to him. " Shiho thought to herself.
"You don't have to worry" She answered. "He will never look at me that way."
