Disclaimer: I don't own Avatar the last airbender...that would be awesome though. I posted this on my wattpad account, but decided to delete it there, and try my luck with it here!
Pain exploded from her ribs. She shot backwards, back slamming into the wall.
"GET UP!" the uniformed man stormed across the small white room. He raised her off of the floor by the collar of her tiny shirt. It was then that Ren wished. Wished for probably the millionth time in all her seven years. She whimpered a bit, which earned her a harsh slap. He dropped her, and she tumbled to the floor in a heap, curling up and cradling her face. Ren could feel the air vibrating around her, as if it were trying to Coax her into bending. To defend herself, or do anything. But Ren was scared. That was what HE wanted. Oh, how she wished she wasn't the Avatar. The man, Captain Shen, sighed, and pressed a button on the wall. "Bring her In"
Then her mother, gagged, kicking and screaming, was dragged into the tiny room. "I didn't want to do this, but you leave me no choice. If you do not activate the Avatar state, then-" he loaded a bullet into a silver pistol. "She's gone." Ren panicked, her mind drew a blank.
"But I Can't! And even if I could, you'd kill me as soon as I did!" She staggered to her feet.
"Then she dies." He raised the gun, resting it gently on the back of her mother's head.
"Wait, no!"
bang. once. bang. twice.
Blood stained the padded walls.
Ren's heart shattered. painpainpainpainPAinpaiNPAINPAINPAIN. The air vibrated, she could feel the earth beneath her, miles below. Ren tasted the water molecules in the growing wind. She could hear a voice faintly in the back of her head as she ROARED. Red flames spouted from her mouth.
The room flickered from sight.
Then the world turned BLUE
