Hi there! This is just a little drabble that flowed out of me last night. It's a little insight into Regina's mind after the events of the season 3 finale, I hope it's not too out of character! As always please review :)

She collapses on her bed and absent-mindedly wonders if someone up there has something against her. If they're up there watching all of this and laughing because making her life miserable is somehow amusing. God, she just wants to punch them in the face. Then she laughs because that's just absurd and realizes that would mean punching herself because her decisions had led her down this path. She had chosen magic over freedom, vengeance over love and darkness over light. Maybe there had been some things out of her control, her mother had planned her life out since the day she was born but she had gone along with it. She had gotten one chance to take control of her life but she'd been too afraid to enter that damn tavern. She had chosen to flee and that choice was one that haunted her most. What if she had gone into the tavern? Would she be living happily with Robin right now or would Rumpelstiltskin have caught up with her? She supposed she never know and what does it matter? It was the past now and what's done is done but there is something she can control. She can control what happens next and she knows what the right thing to do is even if it would leave her broken. She should back off and let them be happy, after all that's all she wants for him and if that comes in the form of his wife then so be it but she's tasted him. She knows now what it feels like to be loved, to finally feel happy and whole again. She saw a future with him, a good one, and damn it if she's going to let it go that easy. Daniel was ripped away from her in a blink of an eye but Robin, he's still here, a living breathing person and she's not going to walk away from him a second time. She's going to fight for him, whether it's right or not because if there's one thing she's learned from the pesky Charmings it's that you never give up on the people that you love.
