Pokémon Academy – A Legend in the Making
Author Note - I just want to say thank you guys for sticking around through my short break to help with all the stress in my life that has been happening recently, a brief summary of what I have been through; Moving houses, Death of a loved one and finally my parents getting divorced. I just want to say thank you guys for sticking around and giving me positive feedback and all the 'get well soon'. Although some people did flame me for taking a break, which upset me to no end mind you, but they were heavily outweighed by all the positive ones I have received.
Author Note #2 - Even though this is not one of the main stories that are up right now, this one and another will be substitutes; as I am still writing all the chapters for them of that specific Volume, so I am going by Volumes at a time, not by chapters, I just figured it will be easier to do it this way. There will be a bit of a wait for the old stories to be updated, maybe in a month or so. But I want to spend as much time as I can on the chapters.
Summary –Kobukan Academy, a place where people need to graduate from the Academy to become what they want, to either be a trainer, coordinator, researcher or anything in-between. Join Ash as he becomes a legend in the making.

This is Sort of based on the game, Pokémon Life Academy.
Pairings -Ash/Harem
Why Harem? - I know that most of the people who read this absolutely hate this genre, but I like it if it is done right. And for a shitty excuse, I can't choose between the girls in the series and in the manga.
Notes – Now I know that having a harem is basically ruining a fanfiction for some, but others seem to enjoy them. I will try my best to incorporate relationships with Ash the best I can.
Ash WILL NOT have a Pikachu. I don't have a problem with him, I just think that it's a waste of space to have on his team.
This is in a Dimension, in the Multiverse where it is more 'advanced', and people can't travel around until they completed the time in Kobukan Academy or in other Academies or have special permission from the Professor of the Region and the Police and has officially registered in the Pokemon League.
Author Note #3 – There will be Manga characters and Anime Characters appearing in this book either as side characters. And there will be people and Pokémon from all the anime so far. Including regions and Pokémon itself, but only available in a certain region.

Regarding Counterparts and people form the Manga – Some characters will appear as Students, some as Professors and some even as professional coordinators and battlers. The only thing that hasn't changed is Champions and Elite Fours.
Regarding Gym Leaders, some who look younger are bumped up and put as 'Gym Leaders in training, and they have to complete the Academy or graduate early to become full time Gym Leaders.
Only Champion that has changed is Lance is only Champion of 1 region, that being Jhoto, someone else is Kanto champion, I'm pretty sure you know who it is... or do you (dun dun dunnnn)
Story Note – Pokémon will have a maximum of 5 moves for beginners, but for advanced and formasters they can have more moves.

Volume 1, Chapter 1
A battlefield, that was coloured in Gold trimmings, it had a field entirely compromised of lush green grass, that was cut short.
It was darkened so you couldn't see the competitors on either side, all you could hear was the deafening crowd cheering, hoping for a good match.
The middle of the battlefield, a spotlight shone upon a person wearing a referee getup, short red sleeved shirt with a Poke Ball symbol on his chest, short black pants with two additional pockets, and a pale man with short black hair and black eyes.
Welcome to the Final Battle everyone, It's for the Title of Pokémon Master! From the Red corner, we have the uprising superstar, Ash Ketchum!
The official announced, and a spotlight shone over Ash, revealing him to be in his late teens,consisting of a blue collared shirt with short sleeves, white trim, a black undershirt, darker blue jeans, a red and white hat, and red high-top sneakers. He had jet balck hair under his cap, he had two 'z' shapes on his cheeks and had brown eyes. He also had a serious expression on his face, but you could clearly see the excitement flowing through them.
From the blue corner, we have our undisputed champion, who hasn't been challenged in over a decade. Please welcome, the Pokémon master!
As the spotlight was about to shine on the figure, it was suddenly blurred and became distorted.
"ASHTON KETCHUM! GET UP, YOU WERE MEANT TO BE UP OVER AN HOUR AGO!"

Ash was heavily surprised by the interruption in his dream and fell off his bed comically with a thud, successfully banging his head on the ground.
"OOF!" He grunted out in pain as soon as his face contacted the floor.
As he gets up, he looks around his room, his little Pokémon sanctuary, with multiple different Pokémon items, even a massive plush of a Snorlax. His room had plain blue wallpaper, along with some lighter blue trimmings along with edges, and a single light bulb that is around a Voltorb, which shines red and white.
As he stands up, you are giving his height, which is about 5'6, average height of a fifteen-year-old male, he has a lean build with some slight muscles on his frame and was slightly tanned from helping Professor Oak when he was younger. Professor Oak was the main reason why he was enrolled in Kobukan Academy.
Although his 'mature' look was thrown out the window with his current pyjamas. It was a light green short sleeve shirt and long light green pants with multiple pictures of Voltorbs on them, all sparking.
"Give me five minutes mom!" He yelled from his room, he heard a slight 'hurry up' from behind the door, and then some slight thudding, telling him that his mother was now walking down the stairs, probably warm up breakfast again.
Ash looked down at his pajamas and sighed quietly to himself. "I really need to get new pyjamas, if someone sees me like this, I will be the laughing stock of the campus." He muttered quietly to himself and proceeded to go to his wardrobe to start changing.

As Ash made his way downstairs, he was dressed in a blue unzipped jacket with white trims and a black zipper with a black undershirt, that clung to his muscles around his body, he was wearing blue jeans with red sneakers, his raven black hair was still messy, but was mostly hidden under his official red and white Pokémon league cap. He also had black finger-less gloves to keep his hands warm and make it easier to do certain things.
He made his way to the dining room, to where he could already see his breakfast waiting on the table. He sat down at the table and began eating his pancakes, that melted in his mouth.
"You know dear, that you only have about 30 minutes before the exams start?" He heard his mother ask when she came around the corner and leaned against a wall and looking rather amused at the teenager.
Ash's eyes bugged out of his head comically, then he started to inhale his food quicker than a Ninjask's wings.
Ash then stood up and rushed over to his mother who was trying her best to not giggle her heart out and gave her a massive hug.
His mother has brown eyes and brown hair. She wears a pink short-sleeve jacket with a yellow undershirt that has a yellow apron over the top of it, a purple skirt, and light green shoes. She had slightly tanned skin from the housework and gardening work she does. She was slightly shorter than Ash standing at about 5'5.
She was Delia Ketchum, a single mother, but was also a successful restaurant owner in Pallet Town, well that was because she has the only restaurant in Pallet Town. So the Ketchum name was slighty famous in the Kanto region just because of this restaurant.
"Don't forget to change your underwear, everyday young man." Delia said strictly while tapping Ash's nose.
"MOM! I'm fifteen! I know what I'm doing with myself!" Ash shouted out with a face that could put a tomato to shame.
"Good luck in your exam, sweetie!" Delia said before she watched Ash run towards the door.
"Thanks mom, I'll call you later!" Ash said before he quickly bolted out the door, completely forgetting his one special Poke Ball that was mostly blue and had some bubbles on it.
Sigh
"He already forgot something, oh well, he will just have a harder time in the exam now." Delia said to herself in an exasperated manner, before picking up the Poke Ball to mail it to the academy.

"Scuse me! Coming through! I'm late!" Ash shouted as he ran past some people, while apologizing to the ones he's knocked over, he was trying to find a facility that was here only until the exams finish.
He saw it, it was a very tall building that looked like a flying dome of sorts on top of a hill with a railing over the side and a small forest overlooking it. It was deep blue, with panes of glass that were clear, but had a purple tint to them. As he saw it, he quickly sprinted over to the people marking off the name list.
"Mark everyone else, nogoers." The gruff man said as he was about to pack up his stand and let them know that no-one else was coming.
"WAIT!" He heard two voices shout out behind him... well one from behind and one from directly besides him.
"M-mark, A-Ash Ketchum present." Ash said while bending over and catching his breath from the decent run he just had.
However, both saw a random hand come grabbing at the railing, and a boy who looked to be about one year older than Ash made his way over the railing and flopped down on his back with a resounding thud.
He stuck his hand up into the air and shakily croaked out. "J-Jimmy... is... also present. Ugh." Jimmy spoke out hoarsely and quickly collapsed from the looks of it.
He stood about 5'4 and was wearing a backwards baseball cap that was golden and blue, and has a bit of dark blue hair that came out of the cap end and spiked up then came back down over his face, he was also wearing a red jumper that was completely zipped up and had a white zipper and white pockets at the bottom of it. He also had a black undershirt underneath the jumper, he was wearing gold and black shorts with red short socks and gold and black sneakers.
"You guys were just in time, although I think the final battles are happening now." The male guard said, completely unfazed by both boys' reactions and promptly ticked their names off.
However, as soon as both boys heard that the final battles were happening, they both rocketed up and rushed to the inside of the faculty.
The guards that were guarding them, were packing up but sweat dropped at the scene they just witnessed.

Inside the facility, it was beautiful, it had battle fields were completely neutral to both sides and had a lot of different fields to hold multiple people on, and still have room to battle with other people/protectors. The rooms colour scheme was rather bland, only being dark blue and light blue in some places.
The chairs that people could sit on, looked to be made from red plastic that looked relatively comfortable with a nice back rest to lean back and relax.
"I guess I should formally introduce myself." Jimmy stated getting Ash to turn towards him. "I'm Jimmy, I'm from New Bark Town, Jhoto." Jimmy introduced himself and stuck his hand out in front of him.
"Ash, Ash Ketchum, resident of Kanto, Pallet Town." Ash introduced himself and gave a handshake to Jimmy. After that they both had an awkward silence and kept walking forward to the seating area.
"So... Ash, how old are you?" Jimmy asked the boy with a critical eye as he was in Ash's personal space.
"Uh... well, I'm fifteen." Ash replied to Jimmy's question, as Ash slowly backed away from Jimmy.
As Ash said that Jimmy seemed to gain stars in his eyes and quickly bolted to Ash's side and clasped his hands together with his. "WOW! YOU MEAN YOU ENTERED ONE YEAR EARLY? HOW!" Jimmy said very excitedly, luckily there were only a few who heard this, but they just scoffed at it.
"Uh, b-by helping... Professor Oak... looking after the Pokémon at his lab." Ash replied, very freaked out about how close Jimmy was.
Jimmy seemed to accept this answer, but then he noticed something weird. Ash's eyes had an interesting colour.
"If you don't mind me asking, why are your eyes half brown and half purple?" Jimmy asked with a hand on his chin as he looked closely at Ash's eyes.
Ash seemed to be very shocked though, hardly anyone paid any attention to him, except his mother and maybe Gary and Professor Oak. Other than that, he was basically an outcast.
"It's... personal." Ash replied bitterly and moved to the benches to sit down and watch some of the leftover battles.
Jimmy just shrugged at the answer he got and moved towards Ash.
The start of a budding friendship.
Timeskip
"Some fascinating Pokémon have been used hasn't there?" Jimmy asked while they watched the last battle, a brunette girl from Kanto named Giselle just absolutely demolished the test, only using one of her own Pokémon to pass the test, however Ash could tell she was one of those rich girls who are very arrogant and use money to get things.
"Indeed, some interesting Pokémon she used." Ash replied after getting some goosebumps watching that battle with a Pokémon he has never seen before.
"So, are you going to use your own Pokémon or use rentals?" Jimmy said trying to get some more information from his new acquaintance.
Ash thought about that for a second before he finally replied. "I'm confident in my Pokémon, but I want to use rental Pokémon. Give myself a challenge." Ash said, as he stood up and went towards the rental area, to rent his three Pokémon.
"Are you sure!? Those Pokémon hardly ever listen to other people!" Jimmy said and stood up to catch up to Ash, however before he could run anywhere he was called to the battlefield.
Can Jimmy come up to the second battlefield for his entrance exam. Jimmy please report to the battlefield before five minutes

As Ash made his way to the rental area, he saw that there was a female clerk behind the counter with at least 20 different Poke Balls all with the numbers one through to twenty, and one ultra-ball, and beside her was a small flyer on what the rental service is, it was a small shop, but had a clear view of some of the battlefields and the main battlefield which was being prepared, she looked intrigued when she laid eyes on Ash, his dual coloured eyes fascinated her.
"Welcome to the rental service, is there anything I can help you with?" She asked him.
"Yes, what are the rules involving these Pokémon?" Ash asked, he hadn't read the rental Pokémon rules before he came here, he was going to use his own Pokémon, but he wanted to keep them a secret for now.
"Well, the rules are simple. First you can only choose three Pokémon, because the entrance exam is three on three, and whether you win or lose, you must return these Pokémon." The female clerk spoke the first rule, Ash nodded his head for the first one, that was a given.
"The next one is that in the one Ultra Ball, there is a Pokémon that has been randomized each time, these ones will rarely listen to the person who picked it, however, it is very strong if it listens to the trainer, many tried and have failed choosing this Pokémon." The female clerk spoke out in an even tone, then it ended with an exasperated sigh.
Ash nodded his head, already planning on choosing the Pokémon in the Ultra Ball.
The female clerk then handed him a scanner like device. Ash blinked when he saw what it was, judging by the small giggle he heard, it looked obvious as to he didn't know what that was.
"That right there is a Pokémon scanning device, it is yours to keep as it is part of the regulations that we give them to people who participate in the entrance exam, whether they win or lose. This allows you to check your Pokémon's moves and ability, it's almost like a Pokedex but a prototype of the real thing." The clerk said with a small giggle.
"Thanks." Ash said and pocketed said device.
"So, do I just choose a number, and leave this up to luck?" Ash asked as he pointed towards the different Poke Balls on the shelf.
The clerk seemed surprised and it showed on her face when she blinked a couple of times, and she looked at Ash with an indescribable stair.
"You want to use these Pokémon, even though that you know the risks?" She asked confused, she just saw Ash nod his head and continued to walk up towards the counter, basically leaning over it to get a better look at the small hints on the Poke Balls.
"Every trainer has their perks, I believe that I will be able to use these Pokémon to their fullest potential." Ash said to the female clerk who seemed rather taken back by the lack of arrogance in that sentence, it was a statement filled with determination.
"I see, well you can take your pick on three numbers." The clerk said getting back into a more professional nature.
Ash nodded his head, he used a bit of thinking time while carefully looking over the Poke Ball markings that determine the Pokémon in them.
"Alright, can I please take Poke Ball number one and five and I want to test my luck with the Ultra Ball please." Ash spoke out in a confident voice, clearly able to hold his nerve, especially when asking for something.
"Are you sure?" The clerk asked worriedly when she heard that he wanted an Ultra Ball, she saw Ash nod confidently and she turned around and got the Poke Balls from the shelf and gently put them down on the front counter.
"Here you go, sir, Poke Ball number one, five and the Ultra Ball." The clerk said with a small smile and a small but graceful bow at the hip.
Ash took the Poke Balls and went his way over to a spare room that was about 10 meters wide and 8 meters wide.
The room itself was plain white, also it had different entrances to different battlefields making this a waiting room and you wait to be called here, although it looks like it hasn't been used in a couple of years but is still in operation.
Ash Ketchum has chosen Poke Balls number one, five and the Ultra Ball from the Rental Service.
Ash heard the announcement blare out in the entire facility, he sweat dropped a bit, he kind of wanted to keep that secret as well, but now he will think that people will underestimate him.
"Come on out!" Ash called out and chucked all three Poke Balls in the air. Immediately there were three flashes of white, and as the light died down there were three Pokémon all varying in sizes.
"Gen! Gar!" A dark purple, bipedal Pokémon with a roundish body. It has red eyes and a wide mouth that is usually curled into a sinister grin. Multiple spikes cover its back, and it has large pointed ears. Its arms and legs are short with three digits on both its hands and feet. It also has a stubby tail.
"Wow, Gengar." Ash spoke out and took the device out of his pocket and pointed it towards Gengar who was by now looking at him intently, watching his every move with that creepy face of his.

"Nice moves you have their Gengar." Ash praised the Gengar as it surprisingly smiled and held two fingers in a victory sign. "All right buddy, return." Ash said and pulled out the Poke Ball and returned it in a flash of red.
As Ash looked towards the second figure that came out of the Poke Ball, he was met with a very creepy Pokémon, that even gave him a bit of chills running down his back. It has a red body with black stripes and markings on its rear that form a face. In the center of its head is a small, white horn. Additionally, it also has small purple eyes and a pair of white mandibles. The creature has four yellow legs with purple stripes; long, pointed growths on its back appear to be remnants of its fifth and sixth legs. It stood at about 3'07".
"Ariados. Ugh... creepy." Ash said, with a slight murmur towards the end hoping that the Pokémon didn't hurt him.
"Ari? Dos." The Pokémon spoke out creepily as it blinked and was looking at the place it was in, the way it moved was very creepy, even walking up the walls and started shooting little webs out of its body to support itself.
Ash pointed towards the Ariados with the device, and he was surprised with how it looked.

"Here girl." Ash spoke out towards the Ariados, who heard him and looked at him weirdly, ever in curiosity or in surprise at him knowing its gender, it didn't see the object in Ash's hands. It crawled its way back down to the ground via a string shot that was launched towards the ground, and carefully went over to Ash.
Ash slowly knelt down a little, bringing himself closer to the height of the arachnid, he cautiously took his hand out in an open palmed fashion and carefully put it atop of the Ariados' head and pet it.
"Aria!" The Ariados cried out in happiness with its eyes closed, seemingly putting her head closer to the hand and nuzzling into it. Like a very big and creepy kitten.
"I'll be sure to use you well Ariados. Return." Ash spoke to Ariados who did a little cheer and nodded its head, and then was briefly returned to the Poke Ball.
Ash looked towards the webs that Ariados spat out, they were now fading away into nothingness in a blink of an eye.
Ash looked for where the third Pokémon was from the Ultra Ball. Well that was until he felt something staring at him from behind him and un unnatural rise in temperature, and he felt a ton of negative emotions coming from the Pokémon. As Ash turned around to see what Pokémon was having all the negative emotions, he was met with an equine Pokémon with four slender legs and black hooves. Its body is cream-colored, and it has a horn on its forehead. It also has small red eyes and pointed ears with red insides. Red and orange flames stream from neck, part of its back, and its fetlocks. Flames also form this Pokémon's tail.
"A Rapidash. Wow" Ash spoke out and went to pet the Rapidash, but that was a mistake as Rapidash jerked its head forward and tried to harm Ash with the horn on its head. Ash felt the heat come into play even more with the heat seemingly increasing yet again with such ferocity it could put a flamethrower to shame.
"Easy, I won't harm you. Just calm down." Ash spoke out calmingly, with his eyes glowing a brief amethyst, it seemed to work because Ash was able to gently pet Rapidash on the neck and it only flinched a little bit.

Ash took the device out for the final time and pointed it towards the Rapidash with one hand still petting its chest for comfort, so it doesn't get scared by the voice of the device.

"Good girl, that's a good girl." Ash spoke out soothingly as he saw the poor Pokémon become spooked by the robotic voice, he quickly dropped the device on the ground and hugged the Pokémon tight, and he was surprised when he didn't get burned by the flames around her body.

The Rapidash nuzzled into Ash and lost all its negative emotions and now Ash could feel an overwhelming amount of love and devotion coming off the Rapidash, all directed at him. Not taking it into consideration Ash took the Ultra Ball back and pointed it to the Rapidash, who now saw the ball and quickly backed away in fear. Ash tested this to when he hid the Poke Ball behind his back and into his pants pocket, almost immediately Rapidash came near him and allowed itself to be petted again.
"You don't like being in Poke Balls, huh." Ash stated more than questioned, the massive equine Pokémon nodded her head slowly and continued to nuzzle into Ash.
Ash Ketchum, please report to the main battlefield, Ash Ketchum, please report to the main battlefield.
Ash heard the announcement, he nodded to himself and looked around the room, trying to see the main entrance towards the main battlefield. He found it in the middle of the room at the back, he looked towards Rapidash. "Listen, I have to put you back into the Poke Ball now, I promise to let you out soon." Ash reasoned with it, the Rapidash didn't seem all that happy but complied with a cute stare towards Ash. Ash seeing the co-corporation with the Pokémon quickly put her back into the Ultra Ball.
Ash straightened out all his clothing and fixed his hat and proceeded to confidently walk towards the battlefield through the unique entrance.

As Ash made his way on the main battlefield, he saw that it was plenty of trees around the sides but had lots of space dominating most of the battlefield.
'Perfect for Ariados, Gengar and Rapidash, what luck.' Ash thought to himself as he waited for his tester to take to the field, unaware he was being watched by some certain people.
In the Stands
On the top row of the stands, stood Jimmy, in his new get-up which consisted of a deep blue jacket with some aqua trimmings along the edges and still had his previous outfit on underneath, barring the jacket, the jacket had a logo of the letter K written and curved through the letter A with a Poke Ball surrounding it.
"Let's see if he can do this." Jimmy spoke out suddenly, as he saw the test administrator enter the field, dressed in white and black tied up jacket and some black dress pants and brown dress shoes.
"You know this kid Jimmy?" Asked a female beside him, he looked briefly towards the girl and she was wearing her deep blue jacket done up and had an aqua blue skirt that ended just above her knees and had deep blue pockets near the waistline. The girl Marina is medium height and slim. She has long teal-blue hair tied in low bunches behind her ears and spiked bangs at the front, dark eyes and pale peach skin.
"I'm sure Marina, I sense something special with that boy. Especially after I saw he had his own party of Pokémon but wanted to test his luck with the Rental service." Jimmy spoke, getting a few looks of surprise form the others with him, they all heard the announcement, but didn't know that's how or why he chose them.
"Interesting." A quiet and monotone voice spoke out from behind Jimmy and Marina, they both were spooked and saw that it was another girl who radiated an aura of coldness. She was wearing the same deep blue jacket, but it was opened, showing her purple undershirt that clung mostly to her chest region, she was also wearing white long pants and pinkish-red shoes.
"Uhm, who are you?" Jimmy and Marina asked simultaneously, whilst both looking at each other and looked away blushing a bit.
"All you need to know is I'm Sabrina, future full Gym Leader of Saffron city." Sabrina replied in her normal monotone voice that could creep anyone out in a dark place.
"Nice to meet you Sabrina, but what is interesting?" Marina asked whilst Jimmy looked back towards the battlefield while the test administrator was explaining the rules.
"Ash Ketchum. A person who visited my family. He also has minor psychic powers." That was all she said before leaving to get a better vantage point, leaving a dumbstruck Marina who soon relayed the information to Jimmy.
Back on the battlefield
"Ash Ketchum, I welcome you, I will be your tester today, but since you chose the Rental Service, I shall use tougher Pokémon, and you will lose a few marks for using Pokémon that are not your own." The balding man said with a blank face and had his eyes hid behind some dark sunglasses.
Ash was left stunned, he didn't know that there was a penalty for using rental Pokémon, he thought it would have gained more attention and maybe higher marks.
Ash simply nodded his head in understanding and waited for the man to continue talking and explaining the battle rules.
"It will be a three on three battle, no substituting unless it is with a move. The winner will be the person with Pokémon still be able to fight, if it happens to be a draw, then our teachers will run over the footage and finally reply to your entrance on whether you pass or fail." A referee said appearing in the middle of the field and off to the side near the edge if the Poke Ball symbol on the field. The balding man took a Poke Ball from his belt and revealed the Pokémon in a bright flash of white.
Out of the Poke Ball came a massive purple, bat-like Pokémon. This Pokémon's pointed ears are long, and appear to lack insides, while its mouth is small and usually has its teeth bared. Crobat's eyes are red with yellow scelera. It has two pairs of wings; one smaller pair is located near its stubby feet, and a second pair on its shoulders has greenish-blue undersides and two stubby 'fingers'.
"Schh" The Pokémon screeched out as it flapped its wings staring directly at Ash, almost giving him a massive glare.
At the top of the battlefield came a massive screen with the image of the trainers and three blanked out spaces in circles. However, the opposite trainers screen soon lit up with the Pokémon's image in the first Poke Ball slot.
"A Crobat huh." Ash murmured out, he could feel all the pairs of eyes on him as they were waiting for him to reveal his first Pokémon.
Ash took out the first Poke Ball that he rented out. "Gengar, I choose you!" He shouted as he threw the Poke Ball in the air and in a flash of white came the tricky purple Pokémon.
"Crobat vs Gengar, battle begin!" The referee exclaimed before jumping back a bit to avoid getting hit.
"Gen!" Gengar shouted out as he locked eyes with Crobat, and started doing some creepy glares to throw off the Crobat, which didn't work, much to Genagr's displeasure.
"Since you are the challenger, I will let you take first move." The balding man said as he gestured towards Ash.
"Alright, Gengar use Shadow Ball!" Ash commanded out and Gengar opened his mouth and started forming a condensed ball of dark energy and shot it at the airborne Crobat.
The man briefly amazed by how well and how quickly the Gengar responded, he quickly replied. "Crobat, Dodge up high!" He shouted in a calm fashion. Crobat was just barely able to dodge he took up high into the air and the Shadow Ball collided with a tree in the background and caused a small explosion of splinters and dust.
"Now, Air Slash!" The man commanded and Crobat started flapping his wings which started glowing briefly and launched two large crescent shapes towards Gengar which was floating back to the ground.
"Gengar! Use the shadows from the trees to travel!" Ash called out, and just like that the Ghost type Pokémon vanished from sight as soon as he contacted the shadows and faded into the ground, leaving no shadow above ground of his location.
"Be on guard, Crobat." The man said, Crobat obviously listened and took a more defensive stance in the air.
"Strike now! Ice Beam at its wings!" Ash spoke out and suddenly before Crobat appeared Gengar with his usual smug grin now turned sinister and shot a highly concentrated beam of ice and connected with Crobat's right pair of wings and managed to freeze a portion of them, leaving Crobat off balance.
"Grr. Crobat while he is close hit him with a Crunch!" The man said frustrated by the surprise attack, the Crobat winced but performed a roll and had his fangs elongated and struck Gengar directly on his hand before he had a chance to dodge.
"GAR!" Gengar screamed out in pain as he had pain finally register from the super effective attack he just received.
"Shake him off!" Ash yelled out in concern for his rented Pokémon, he didn't like seeing Pokémon get hurt, but life isn't fair sometimes for a battler.
Gengar, listening to Ash's commands tried his best shaking the pesky bat off him and started helplessly flailing his arm about to try and loosen the bats fangs stuck in him but to no avail.
Seeing as Gengar only had one free arm left, but he still had his mouth close to Crobat's body Ash called out his next attack. "Gengar! Shadow Ball! Quick!" Ash shouted out quickly hoping that it will be quick enough for the purple shadow Pokémon to win this battle.
"Crobat, go for an Air Slash!" The balding man said in a quick train of thought. Both Pokémon charged their attacks, and both viciously hit each other dead on creating a massive smokescreen and minor explosion that ripped some of the turf off the battlefield.
"Gengar!" Ash called out in concern for the Pokémon. As the smoke cleared you could see both Pokémon laying in a small crater with some singed trees and grass scattering the nearby area, both Pokémon had swirls in their eyes and weren't moving.
The referee came back into view and lifted both flags, being red and green. "Both Pokémon are unable to battle! Both of you, send out your next Pokémon." The referee called out and waited for the next Pokémon to be called out, and in the background on the screen you could see Gengar's and Crobat's image blur out and become small, with the next two free slots becoming enlarged.
"Dodrio, come on out!" The man said before releasing his second Pokémon into the arena, out of the bright white flash came a large, wingless, three-headed avian Pokémon. Each head has a long, sharp beak and a black feathered, V-shaped crest. It has bristly brown feathers covering its heads and upper body, while its lower half has a smooth layer of black feathers. Its wingless body rests on two long and slender, but powerful legs with feet that have three clawed toes in front and one in back.
"Trio!" Dodrio exclaimed and started rapidly moving the three heads around but the middle one was staring directly at Ash.
'Dodrio, well this won't work for Ariados, and I know that it might be risky for Rapidash, but I have to risk it.' Ash thought to himself
Ash pulled out his Ultra Ball that caught the attention of many onlookers, especially since they heard that the Pokémon in Ultra Balls hardly listen.
Up in the stands
The scene switches to the upper stands where other students who have past the examination are wearing their Kobukan Academy jackets with pride, one of the students being female and standing a little shorter than most, being 5'1 she has long yellow-blonde hair in a ponytail with a layered fringe at the front, she is also short for her age and slim, and wears a long sleeved black shirt under a yellow tunic dress that is edged with green, blue tights and purple ankle boots. Her eyes are a dark greenish yellow. However, over the yellow tunic dress she wears her Kobukan Academy jacket over her shoulders.
"I'm impressed. This Ash person, has been using good strategies for his rental Pokémon that he has known for a minimum of 15 minutes." Yellow spoke out with a tone that carried a bit of pride, as she watched him battle.
"He is special, just like you Yellow." Spoke a more deep and masculine voice that held a bit of arrogance in it from beside her, she didn't need to look to know who that was, she could already tell by the voice of who it was.
The girl now known as Yellow nodded her head briefly but kept her rapt attention Ash's battle.
"You are right Gary, I can sense something from the air around him, and it seems to have a calming effect on the surrounding Pokémon." Yellow spoke out softly, showing she was quite shy when speaking about other people who might have different talents.
Gary has auburn hair and black eyes, he wears a black collared shirt, purple cargo pants, a black necklace with a lavender bead instead of the original gold one, purple wristbands, a light gray fanny pack, and black sneakers, he also had his Kobukan Academy Jacket zipped up halfway to his chin, so you could see his shirt underneath.
"Shame, he never really did tell me about that incident that occurred years ago to make this happen." Gary spoke out to Yellow, this got Yellow's attention to turn from Ash to Gary.
She tilted her head confusedly at Gary and blinked a couple of times. "What do you mean?" She asked with a metaphorical question mark bubble appearing above her head.
Gary gave it a small shrug. "I don't know, one day he was very loud and pretty reckless, but now he is calmer and more silent." Gary spoke out with a small sigh at the end.
"What's so bad about that? Isn't that a good thing?" Yellow asked again, turning away from Gary and looking back towards the battle.
Gary sighed and continued. "When you grow up with said person, you find it hard to believe that you used to be friends, but then fell apart as more like rivals after the incident." He spoke out somberly as if he was remembering all the good times they had together when they were younger.
"Rapidash, I choose you!" They both heard Ash yell out and released his Ultra Ball from his hand. Gary turned around and watched with a keen eye as he saw the Pokémon appear from a bright yellow light.
Another part of the stands
In another part of the stands we see Jimmy and Marina both cheering on Ash, well Jimmy more so than Marina.
"Wooho! Go Ash!" Jimmy shouted out which caused more than a few sets of eyes to watch him with some confusion, but mostly amusement. Jimmy suddenly fell face first to the ground with a massive bump forming on his head and had swirls in his eyes.
"Idiot." Marina spoke out bluntly and had her hand clenched in a fist and was above where Jimmy once stood, showing she did the massive blow towards him.
"Please ignore him, his... special." Marina spoke out to the other people who were watching in confusion, the people did just that and looked away from the weird people.
Jimmy popped up and got really close to Marina's face and spoke in an agitated tone and even had a slightly agitated expression judging by the slight tick mark appearing on his forehead. "I'm not special! I'm just cheering for a friend I made earlier today!" Jimmy spoke out comically and quickly jolted away and leant over the balcony to get a closer look.
"Oh yeah? What do you know about him, if he is your 'friend'" Marina asked in a condescending tone of voice and walked closer to Jimmy and stayed away from the metal rails..
"Uhh, he is 15 years old! And he got invited by Professor Oak!" Jimmy spoke up proudly with a smile like he just won the million pokedollar lottery.
"You are hopeless." Marina spoke out bluntly.
Jimmy was about to retort to that statement but was interrupted by Ash himself.
"Rapidash, I choose you!"
Battlefield
In a flash of yellow light, Rapidash's body was seen forming on the field.
Neigh
Rapidash looked around and she soon felt many eyes on her, which freaked her out more than the Pokémon in front of her, she showed this by jerking about and having freak outs and it looked like there wasn't much going to stop her, or if she was going to stop any time soon.
"Challenger, if you don't calm that Pokémon, then you will automatically loose this round." The referee spoke out seriously, not at all impressed with the challengers Pokémon behavior, and in an important task, that honestly should have ended twenty minutes ago.
Everyone was very surprised when they saw the next course of action involving Ash and trying to calm down his Pokémon. He ran out onto the field and carefully confronted the scared equine Pokémon.
"Calm down girl. It's OK." Ash spoke out softly as he started slowly petting the fire horse, only certain people from a certain angle could see that his eyes were glowing light purple as he spoke.
To everyone's surprise, including the referee and the Kubukan staff member, Rapidash calmed down to his touch and from his voice, eventually the Rapidash stopped freaking out and started to rub herself all over his body, all with the flames not burning his body.
"Good girl." Ash spoke softly and rubbed under the chin of the massive Pokémon, getting a soft cry of pleasure from the equine Pokémon. Ash slowly made his way back to his position and turned around and faced his opponent again, this time without a frantic and scared Pokémon on the field, now she was much more clam and had a deadly gaze set towards the Dodrio.
"Sorry about that, she must have issues with other people." Ash spoke out sincerely towards the staff member and towards the referee.
"Not a problem, I expected the rental Pokémon to be of some trouble." The man said as he prepared his orders for his Pokémon.
"Rapidash vs Dodrio, begin." The referee shouted out as he took a couple of steps back to watch the battle from a safe distance.
"Alright Rapidash! Start off with a flamethrower." Ash commanded out to his Pokemon for the day. Rapidash reared its head back and soon unleashed a hail of reddish orange fire from its mouth and it sped off towards the Dodrio.
"Dodge!" Was all the man told the Dodrio and the Dodrio took off to the side of the flamethrower, easily dodging it and waited for his next command. "Now, Drill Peck!" All three beaks on Dodrio all glowed a bright white and the Dodrio became a spinning tri-drill of heads and Ash was caught off guard by the sheer speed that the bird possessed. The attack struck Rapidash dead on her side as she tried to dodge.
"Rapidash, run and use Sunny Day." Ash commanded with his fist clenched in determination. Rapidash did as she was told, and she started galloping away from the pesky bird and started to launch a small ball of light into the sky with her flames glowing brightly as well, as the ball touched the sky it dissipated, and the arena became extremely sunny.
"Dodrio, use Drill Peck again, aim for the legs!" The man said as Dodrio started rapidly spinning towards the Rapidash.
Ash chuckled a bit, which caught the attention of everyone. "What is so funny boy?" The man said, a little peeved at the disrespect showing.
"You fell into my trap. Rapidash! Jump up and Flamethrower, entrap the bird." Ash called out, Rapidash let out a cry and jumped high into the air, Dodrio couldn't stop the momentum and carried out into a tree where all three of his beaks were now stuck in a tree that surprisingly took the hit. Rapidash opened her mouth and had the reddish orange flames start circling around the stuck Dodrio. "Now! Fire Blast!" Ash commanded, Rapidash released multiple powerful streams of fire from its fiery mane on its back at the Dodrio and they all connected and gave a powerful shockwave filling the area along with some blackened smoke clouds.
As the smoke clouds disappeared everyone saw Rapidash on the ground panting a little bit with some minor scratching on the side form the direct Drill Peck hit, as they looked towards the Dodrio, they were met with swirly eyes and the tree that it was stuck on was just a pile of ash and charcoal.
"Drio..." Was all the Pokémon said before it stopped and was returned into the Poke Ball.
"Dodrio is unable to battle. Rapidash wins the round!" The referee pointed out and the screen now had Dodrio become blackened out and become smaller, with the third and final slot becoming bigger.
"Good job Rapidash!" Ash called out to his exhausted Pokémon, Rapidash hearing the praise of Ash gently trotted along and gave Ash a long like up the side of his face and nuzzled her head into his neck.
"Alright, please send out your final Pokémon." The referee said, however, everyone saw the look of pure anger he has when the man looked at Ash. It was a look of loathing.
"Alright! Dragonite!" The man called out and out of the Poke Ball came a massive Pokémon. Dragonite is a draconic, bipedal Pokémon with light orange skin. It has large, grayish-green eyes and a round snout with small nostrils. A pair of long, thin antennae sprout from the top of its head, with a small horn set between them. Its striated underbelly is cream-colored and extends from its neck to the tip of its long, tapering tail. It has thick arms and legs ending in three claws each. The leg joints are well defined, while its arms have a smooth, rounded appearance. Dragonite's wings are small relative to its body, with teal wing membranes.
Rapidash took a couple of trots back in fear of the massive dragon. "What the!" Ash exclaimed out, clearly this man was very angry if he brought this out.
"Dr-Dragonite vs Rapidash, begin." The referee stuttered out in fear before running back a couple of feet.
"Dragonite, quick. Thunder Punch!" As soon as the man said that Dragonite burst forward in a burst of speed with one of its arms becoming shrouded in electrical energy that briefly arced around.
"Dodge!" Ash shouted out in concern for Rapidash, she was able to dodge the deadly Thunder Punch with some difficulty from the previous battle.
"Rapidash, I want you to stay as far away from that Dragonite." Ash called out, the Rapidash listened to a T and didn't even come near the enraged Dragon.
"Now, Flamethrower." Ash watched as Rapidash spewed out more reddish orange flames, except they looked much weaker than before.
"Ignore it Dragonite and go for Thunder Punch again!" The man shouted out, the Dragonite looked mad now as his eyes glowed red. Something that Ash didn't like the look of because he learnt that meant the Pokémon weren't listening and went into a crazed state. Dragonite charged forward through the flames with his fists shrouded in electrical energy.
"Rapidash I need you to try and outlast the Dragonite!" Ash called out to the Rapidash that was now rapidly dodging multiple Thunder Punches.
Mr. Clyde. If you don't get your Dragonite under control you will lose this match and be fired for risking lives of others! The announcement blared out over the multiple shouts of people watching as they saw the Dragonite's onslaught.
"Absolutely not, I'm sick and tired of this charade!" The man said in harsh anger as he just let Dragonite continue its vicious onslaught
"Ash Ketchum is the winner by default! Now return you Pokémon!" The referee said as he raced away towards an area where there were other teachers, hopefully bulkier than him to restrict the crazy man.
"Rapidash I want you to use Flamethrower on the ground!" Ash ordered in concern, he watched as Rapidash did the exact order, creating a barrier of fire and smokescreen.
"Come here girl!" Ash shouted out towards the Rapidash who gladly raced away towards him and started nuzzling him.
"I'm sorry about this." Ash said before he took back the Ultra Ball and quickly returned her in the confines of the Ultra Ball, he quickly put the Ultra Ball on his belt and tried to make his way towards the stairs.
"Not so fast! Dragonite aim for the brat!" The man called out and pointed towards Ash, the Dragonite briefly turned around and faced Ash before zooming off towards him with something forming in his mouth.
"GRRRRRR" Dragonite formed a turquoise energy ball from its mouth and it was rapidly expanding, Dragonite then fires the ball at the opponent which happened to be Ash at the time.
Both of Ash's Poke Balls were shaking frantically as the pulse of turquoise energy made it its way closer to Ash.
BURST BURST
Ash's Poke Balls burst with blinding light as the pulse of energy came closer to the poor boy, the power so great that it was cratering the ground around it and was forming a massive dust cloud.
BOOM
Crash Crunch
As the smoke cleared from the arena, some of the braver onlookers who stayed even during the rampage were met with a gruesome yet amazing sight.
Ash was sprawled out on the floor unconscious with his arm being in a very weird angle and position and with blood dripping down his other arm and dripping down onto the floor, with a small indent on the wall showing that he did indeed have a big impact on the wall, in front of him were Ariados and Rapidash, all scratched up and wobbling but still standing in front of Ash protectively, it looked like that they took the brunt of the attack.
For the Dragonite it was now restrained in a purplish aura, then an Alakazam came floating down from the backroom to the field and restraining the Dragonite.
"Get your hands off me!" Was what the man said as he was completely held down by three big men in all black. One even got on his back and yanked the man's hands behind his back and put handcuffs on him.
When some of the professors made their way to Ash's body, both Pokémon were instantly put on guard.
"Aria!" The Ariados cried out and started gathering purple sludge between its mandibles
The Rapidash was more than protective as it spewed out weak embers from its mouth, trying its best to protect its temporary trainer.
"Easy Rapidash! We are going to help him." One of the male professors of Kobukan Academy said to the erratic equine Pokémon.
They saw that it wasn't working so one of the female nurses who was on sight basically begged it. "Please. If we don't do anything this young man could die... do you want that!?" The nurse basically yelled out, the equine Pokémon must have registered the death part because it calmed down and let them pass.
"Thank you." The nurse said gratefully that the Pokémon listened to her, even the Ariados stopped charging up the attack
The nurse rushed her way towards Ash with the other teachers following her, the nurse then placed her hand towards a certain point on Ash's neck and breathed a sigh of relief.
"Phew. He is still alive, just unconscious." The nurse breathed out a sigh of relief along with the other professors. The nurse then stood up and called for a stretcher from the medical staff at Kobukan Academy.
However, before she could turn around and discuss about his condition and how long he will miss out at Kobukan and discussing the Insurance benefits and what they had to give Ash and his family as a sorry for this incident, they saw that the Rapidash and Ariados now moved closer to Ash's prone form and layed beside him and over him protectively, shielding him from certain angles.
"I guess we found something that we could give Ash as a sorry." The only female professor spoke up as she watched the heartwarming scene between the Pokémon and injured trainer.
The female in question was a female in her mid 20's and had white hair, which she tied into a low pony tail which reaches her mid-back. She wears a navy blue jumpsuit, with a whitish silver vest and low-heeled boots with a long, sky blue trench coat.
"I guess your correct Professor Blanche. Although we still need to pay back the family of this young lad, it was our fault for not giving a proper background check on Mr. Boyd." An elder and wise voice spoke out, it still held some masculinity, but that was not present in his sorrow filled voice.
Professor Blanche nodded her head in understanding and spoke out "Indeed. Blaine, we will cover for his medical costs."
Blaine has shoulder-length, light gray hair in each sides and brown eyes and wears sunglasses and a fake moustache. Blaine also wears an orange long sleeve loose Hawaiian V-neck shirt with a matching green long necklace on his neck and purple at the edge, as well as some red pants and black boots. Blaine at that moment left the area with the Professors to explain to the authorities the full story and pay the medical bills that Ash would need, he was acquaintances with the family as he tried the restaurant, so he decided to be the one to help with the medical bills and with anything else Delia or Ash needed.
END CHAPTER 1
Ash has graduated for the Academy under bad circumstances during his test, how will he react to the incident after he wakes up and how will his companions and fellow classmates react to when he awakes.
This is a Harem, I don't have a limit for it yet, I will go along with the flow for now, and when I feel like there is enough I will stop adding people. I will try my best to form relationships properly and not have girls fall for Ash right away.
