This is based my the book The Stone Rose but you don't need to read it to understand this, basically the Doctor and Rose went to Ancient Rome and saved people and stuff like that, and Rose celebrated his birthday because he didn't have one.

I don't own Doctor Who.

'I love you too'

The Doctor wrote the words down in a piece of paper slowly as if every letter had some sort of power. He sat down on the floor next to the TARDIS console.

Martha was walking around telling him a story about her childhood which he wasn't listening. He felt guilty for ignoring her but at the moment he felt a bit depressive.

Last night by accident, when he was wandering along his spaceship, the TARDIS appeared a room, HER room. The Doctor walked slowly towards it as if her ghost was guarding it. The door opened by itself.

It still smelled like her perfume, her backpack was placed on her poorly made bed. He opened it hoping to find one last piece of her, but instead he found a small gift box and a note that read "For the Doctor". He froze for a moment, was this actually happening? He asked himself.

The Doctor opened it as fast as he could, inside there was a piece of paper, he unfolded it and it read "Thank you for showing me the world. Last year we went to Ancient Rome in your birthday so for your actual present I have planned a whole trip to Rome. Love, Rose"

Tears came streaming down his face; he took the letter and walked out the room.

"Doctor? Are you alright?" Martha asked him

He woke up from his memory and nodded "Of course I am, so where do you want go next?"

She smiled at him and shrugged "Your call"

He stood up and smiled to himself "How about Ancient Rome?"
