Why do I do this? Why do I keep hurting him? Gaia, I can still see his face… I really hurt him this time… I know I did. I'm sorry. I didn't mean it… Even if I apologized to him, would he forgive me again?
Zack tightened his grip on the bedspread, knuckles turning white and shutting his eyes tight as he choked back a sob. He was sorry, so very sorry for breaking the one person who'd been there with him through thick and thin. Put him back together when he'd hit rock bottom. The thought of really losing Sephiroth this time pained him so much, and he felt like he'd die without him.
He'd give anything to take back all the things he said. The image of those sorrowful green eyes were etched into his mind now, and could see them all too clearly. Another sob was caught in his throat. It was a sight he hated to see when his anger got the best of him because they'd ended up in another fight.
'I don't want to lose him.. I never meant to hurt him.'
Damn it! Why did he always inflict such pain on the man? Sephiroth had done nothing but care for him every freaking day and this… Gaia he never meant to put him through so much. But somehow, Zack knew that he'd never leave him.
Because they were made for each other. And Zack, he was done… Done with it. He didn't want to hurt him anymore, and he'd show Sephiroth just how happy he made him.
"Zack…?"
Blue eyes snapped open at the sound of the General's voice. Immediately Zack launched himself off the bed and into Sephiroth's body like lightning, flinging his arms around him. The dark haired SOLDIER gazed up at the other. "Seph, I'm sorry! I-I… What I said, I want to take it back! I…" His voice trembled as he spoke.
"Shh.." Sephiroth whispered, smiling slightly at Zack. "I forgive you."
"Stay with me?"
"Why wouldn't I?"
A smile.
'You're my one true friend… And I never meant to hurt you.'
