The Perfect Date
"They're watching us," Iruka said quietly, a small smirk on his face.
Kakashi chuckled. "I know," he replied, glancing back slightly.
Kakashi and Iruka were on a date, walking through the park and holding hands; it was date number 108 but no one else knew that, they thought it was date one. Currently, the rookie 9 plus team Gai as well as the jounin sensei and Iruka's friends were spying on them. What they failed to realize was that you can never spy on an ANBU rank jounin prodigy, nor a jounin powered chunin teacher. It was truly impossible given they were both teacher of crazy kids.
"Do you think they'll ever leave?" Iruka asked dryly.
"Probably not," Kakashi said just as humorless. "Go with the ole switcher-roo?"
Naruto's eyes narrowed. "What are they doing?" he asked suspiciously.
Sakura had hearts in her eyes. "They're looking lovingly into the sunset while thinking about the future they'll have together," she cooed.
"Hn."
"Come on Iruka! Make your move!" Izumo shout-whispered; Kotetsu, Raidou, and Genma behind him.
Kurenai was furiously taking notes for the yaoi club while everyone else was watching the couple.
"What are they doing now?" Kurenai whispered conspiringly. No one was willing to mention she was acting like Jiraiya, the enemy of her Anti-Pervert club.
"They are Youthfully watching the Youthful sunset of Spring!" Gai whispered back, though it sounded like normal speech.
'Kakashi' and 'Iruka' were 'leaning' on each other, facing the cliff side and the sunset. If the spies bothered to look at their faces, they'd see Kakashi's was XD while Iruka's was : (.
The real Kakashi and Iruka were sitting on a rooftop, watching the unset; Iruka was sitting between Kakashi's legs, leaning on his chest. They were content; like the world around them wasn't there.
"You're a special one Iruka," Kakashi murmured.
Iruka smiled, nuzzling his lover's chest. "Thanks," he purred.
Kakashi hesitated, and then he held out his hand; a black box in his palm.
"Iruka," he said. "I want you to have this."
Iruka opened his eyes to look and he gasped. He stared at the box while taking it and opening it; he gasped again.
It was a white gold band with an uncut sapphire stone. It was beautiful and fit just right when kakashi slid it on his left ring finger.
"My father proposed to my mum with that," Kakashi muttered bashfully.
"So unfair," Iruka whispered.
"Hm?"
Iruka laughed lightly and he reached into his pocket. He pulled out a ring and gave Kakashi his own shock. It was made of tungsten, a rare, chakra conduction metal, with an obsidian gem. When Iruka put it on his finger he could feel the warm breeze of chakra in it that he associated with his lover.
Kakashi stared a second longer then he smiled. "I'll say yes if you do," he said.
Iruka laughed childishly. "Sure."
They sealed it with a kiss.
End.
