#2. Happy ever after
Featuring: Winnifred
"I think it best that you see for yourself, Madame."
Queen Addalay, queen of the Marshland, sighed, nodded, and patted the servant girls arm.
Closing the door of her chamber behind her, she followed and was surprised to be led to the kitchens.
Stepping to the side, the girl pointed to the pantry.
Addalay paused for a moment, then pushed open the door.
"Winnifred? Winnifred, Darling, are you down-"
On the floor the 8 year old little princess lay, clutching her tummy, a pile of half eaten apples around her.
"Winnifred!! Sweetie, what happened?"
Falling to her knees, she cradled the child in her arms, smoothing out her hair.
"I had to eat the apples," she explained with a tiny groan, "to get my happy ever after."
She sighed, wrapping her arms around her mothers neck, letting herself be lifted and carried out of the pantry.
"By why apples? Why so many?" her mother begged, nodded to the servants that gathered, assuring them it would be alright.
"Snow white."
Addalay grinned. "Oh, my dear. You will get your happily ever after.
But I'm afraid you have to wait. For it must happen in your own, wonderful way."
