If The Sky Was Your Limit

Hermione Granger, Head Girl of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, lay flat on her back, staring up through the branches of an oak tree on the bank of the Black Lake at the clouds that adorned the baby blue sky. She had just completed her 3 foot essay for Ancient Runes, and was relishing in the fact.

The sound of footsteps was dulled by the grass. Hermione shifted over slightly, recognising their sound. Draco Malfoy, the Head Boy, sat down beside her, staring thoughtfully into the Lake.

A Muggle phrase floated through Hermione's mind; a phrase that continually struck her anew with its possibilities. A phrase that was more of a question, and one her grandfather had often used to illustrate that one really could be anything they wanted.

She sat up, and joined Draco in his scrutiny of the Lake.

"What would you be," she asked him softly. "If the sky was your limit?"

Draco replied instantly, his voice quiet and thoughtful.

"Yours."

Slowly, Hermione leaned over and kissed him gently. As she drew away, his arms slid around her, and held her close.
