Sasuke
God of Rock
Prologue
Death. Blood. Their screams. He was helpless. And that big red moon, clashing painfully against the black of the sky. Why? Why, Itachi? Why, brother?
But it was not his brother's betrayal that hurt him so much. It was the fact that he forgave him, for he was his Aniki, his big brother. But he would never admit it, he couldn't. And it hurt even worse.
He had only one goal. One ambition. One desire. To avenge their deaths. It was his sacred duty and responsibility as the only Uchiha.
That was how the Hokage had found him. Sitting in a corner of the room, staring emotionlessly into nothing, as if he was not even there. The poor buy had woken up several days earlier, screaming. Now he was numb with everything that happened.
Sarutobi sighed. His heart clenched painfully when he saw children stripped of their childhood like that. He was partially responsible for that. But it was for the greater good of the village. Hiruzen knew that when his days would come, he would be walking through the gates of hell. A good wise old man, the Professor, the God of Shinobi and third Hokage. His sacrifice was for the greater good. After all, the road to hell was paved with the best of intentions.
Sarutobi could do only so much for the traumatized boy. And then, to his suprise, the boy went back to the Shinobi Akademy only after a week from waking up. His cold and uncaring demeanor spoke volumes of how much damage was done to him, by HIS own orders. He prayed both him and his brother to find peace someday. He prayed that Sasuke would find reason and remain loyal to Konoha, like his brother. He prayed for a miracle.
And the miracle came...
LINELINELINELINE
Sasuke was walking back home to his empty Uchiha compound after a long and tedious training session. He felt bitter, he felt disgusted and disgruntled by the grovelling of the villagers. He felt like some sort of trophy or prize animal. Oh, the tragedy! Oh, that poor boy, all alone! Oh, the great last Uchiha. It was annoying, but some shinobi, ANBU even, offered to train him, store clerks gave him discounts, everyone was supportive of his quest to become stronger, to avenge his clan. But it was so bloody annoying. Why didn't they leave him alone? Couldn't they see he was trying to train? And those damn fangirls. Especially that Yamanaka girl and her shadow with the pink hair. They were the most creative stalkers he had so far. All the better reason to become better soon. He swore he was gonna-
'Oomph!'
Sasuke picked himself from the ground and dusted off his clothes. He looked at what had caused him to fall in the first place, with a deep scowl. He definitely needed to train more.
'A book?'
Sasuke picked up the book and upon closer inspection, he discovered it as a very old, thick leather book. There were some faded remains of what used to be a cover picture and some words that formed a title, but they were illegible.
Curiousity taking over him, the last Uchiha cracked it open.
