Disclaimer: I don't own the Pirates of the Caribbean world.  They belong to whichever genius's created them, savvy?

Notes: This pirate is one Salamandra and I thought up on one of our all-night RP sessions. Loosely based on a mixture of Jack Sparrow and the myth of Icarus.

Captain Icarus

Amber eyes,

Night-black hair,

Battered hat,

Covered stare.

Waist-length braids,

Wooden beads,

Flask of rum,

Flamboyant deeds.

Pirate's brand,

Slave's deep mark,

Burning irons,

Expression dark.

Too close to the sun,

Icarus flew,

He fell from the sky,

To sea of blue.

His wings on the wind,

Upward he flew,

And when he tumbled,

He was caught by his crew.

His wings mended,

Ready to fly,

Soaring on wind-skeins,

Free in the sky.

Master of elements,

Water, air, fire, earth,

Child of the wide sea,

Guided to safe berth.

Wind fills the sails,

The sea gently rolls,

Stay safe, young pirate,

Don't sleep on the shoals

Many long years,

He sailed the seas,

The ship long-waked,

Moved on a breeze.

When he grew old,

He sailed away,

Over the horizon,

To the dawn of day.

Even now, you can see,

A figure far away,

Borne aloft on fiery wings,

And a sunbeams final ray.
