There's a place down the street

That they call Circus Rêve

Where people drown their sorrows

Or gain them again

If your mind is too full

The girls that work the night

Can help you dream

Or even dream for you

-

Down at Circus Rêve

There is no one young

Old souls with young masks

Entertain and serve

Old souls with tiered masks

Greets them from the tables

Whistling without air

Laughing without joy

-

They don't say they don't know

They don't say they don't care

All they want is peace

From the world out there

And in this last resort

At least the flesh is warm

At least they can pretend

That their hearts were once alive

-

The walls are red and dusty

But the bar is kind' a clean

And though you'll never know the name

At least he isn't mean

You dread to go back home again

When all you need is here

You never liked your stepdad

And your mommy doesn't care

-

This is Circus Rêve

A place for everyone

It doesn't ask you anything

Or what it is you've done

It doesn't try to boss with you

It doesn't make a sound

But it really takes good care of you

And loves when you're around

It's one oasis in this desert world

And you're welcome anytime

It welcomes you like a long lost friend

Even if it's your first try

It prays for you to come back soon

And it hopes that you're alright

And that all those lonesome feelings

Will be lost in those dusty walls of Circus Rêve tonight
