this is my alternate ending for "Welcome Back Big Time". enjoy! POV: Kendall Knight
I watched the back of the sign move through the crowd. Anxiety roared through me and I felt like I couldn't breathe. All I could see where blonde tips is hair poking out from under the sign, but that was it. Did they know that the sign was backwards? Maybe…
The sign lifted a little bit, and I saw Jo's face. Why was she here? She obviously didn't love me anymore, made clear by the sign that read "I HATE KENDALL" when she turned it around.
James patted my back. "Sorry, buddy," he said, and continued singing his part of the song.
It felt like I had been stabbed in the gut. Why did she just come here, get my hopes up, and then tear me down in front of all my beloved fans? It's just cruel.
After the rest of our songs, I demanded that I went right back to the Palmwoods. I didn't need this anymore. All that had happened in the past two days was just weighing down on my pride and I just couldn't take it anymore.
"Kendall, why can't you stay for the rest of Rocktoberfest? It'll only be a couple more hours!" Carlos said.
"I don't want to be within 50 feet of Jo. Didn't you see the sign that she had?"
He peeked out from behind backstage. "Oh. Whoops."
"Yeah. I'm leaving." I got in a cab and was soon in the comfort of the vacated Palmwoods lobby.
"Kendall!" a voice said from behind me.
I turned around, and there was Jo, panting and holding the hateful sign.
"Why did you leave?" she asked.
"Why did you show up with that sign?" I rebuffed. "Way to get my confidence up."
"What?" She looked at the sign. "Oh, shit! I got the wrong one!"
"Sure you did."
"Kendall, I'm serious. Come with me." She led me up to her room and sat me down on the couch inside. Then she disappeared into her bedroom for a moment, coming back out with a different sign.
"This was the one I meant to bring," she said, holding up a new sign that said "I LOVE KENDALL" in big letters with hearts everywhere.
"Really?"
"Yes. Jett made the other one, I swear. I'd never do that to you." She sat next to me. "Why can't you believe me?"
I smiled slightly. "I never said I didn't."
A wash of relief came over her face. "Thank you." She hugged me. "I love you, Kendall."
