The Boggart Challenge by ToxicRanfaill.

Nymphadora Tonks took a deep breath before entering the room. Earlier in the morning her mother, Andromeda Tonks, asked her to get rid of a Boggart in the guest room of her home. Being an Auror, Tonks had no problem accepting the job. Well, that is until she came to the door of the guest room. Tonks had no clue what her greatest fear was. Some people were afraid of spiders, others of housework. She'd never dwelled on fear, her father had told her it wasn't healthy to go around thinking about what scared anyone.

So here she was in the guest bedroom about to get rid of a Boggart. A small bed sat in the corner and beside it was a chest of drawers. The three drawers looked normal, except for the fact that the bottom one was shaking. Pulling out her wand, Tonks prepared herself before opening the last drawer.

Miraculously she managed not to stumble backwards but to take a few steps back. The figure before her would forever be etched into her memory.

There on the ground was none other than Remus J. Lupin. The love of her life was motionless. His eyes were lightless and open, staring blankly ahead. Tonks felt her breath hitch in her throat. This was definitely unexpected. Sure, she loved Remus, but she didn't go around expecting him to…die…at any given moment.

But in the world they lived in today, deaths did happen. Especially for members of the Order of the Phoenix. Especially anyone opposing You-Know-Who.

It took Nymphadora a moment to get over the shock and for the Auror training to kick in. Once the training kicked in Tonks attempted to make the scene before her into something more humorous.

Three seconds passed.

Four.

Five.

Six.

Seven.

"Ridikulous!" a voice from behind had Tonks turning to see a jet of light fly past her and hit the Boggart, which had swiftly taken the form of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. The Dark Lord was hit by the light and became a snake balloon and disappeared back into the drawer, though now it was no longer shaking.

"Mom?" Nymphadora gave her mother a questioning look. The older witch was standing in the doorway, her wand still aimed at the drawer but now moving down towards her side.

"Never take on a Boggart alone, dear." Andromeda sighed. After a small moment of silence she said, "Are you alright Nymphadora?"

The Metamorphagus thought the question over. Her answer was a simple one: not really. After seeing Remus dead on the floor, she was having the sudden urge to be a child again. When you're young a hug from your parents could fix almost anything. Now it took a lot more than just a hug. Now you had to think and talk it all out.

"I'm fine." She said, forcing a smile. Her mother gave her what Ted Tonks and Nymphadora had come to call 'The Look'. It was said this look could pick out any lie; and it was true for the most part. But Andromeda let it go.

She knew her daughter had a lot of growing up to do, which involved facing her fears. No parent ever wants to see their child be put up against the thing they fear most, but in this war…you never knew what could happen.

To be honest I wasn't too happy about this one…but…idk.
