It had all happened so fast. They were sitting on the couch talking. "I am not a god man, Skye." She tried to convince him otherwise, but he wouldn't listen. He told her everything, about Garrett, about Hydra, about everything.
Garrett had recruited him when he was young. It was an out from the terror of his older brother and troubling childhood he had. Now he wanted out. He wanted to be part of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Coulson's team. He wanted to be the guy Skye needed. He broke down as he told her this and she grabbed his hand with a little squeeze to let him know she was there. He looked down briefly in shame and that's when he felt he hand on his cheek, wiping away the pain and showing her support. His name rolled off tongue so quietly and that's when he grabbed her by the back of the head and brought his mouth to hers. It started rough and needy like it was the only time they would get to do that, but as he popped the first few buttons on her shirt, she slowed them down. He picked her up, chests pressed together, her legs wrapped around his hips and he carried her to the bed. He laid her down gently like she was a precious jewel. Everything from there on out happened quickly, but as slow as they could go. It was truly love making.
And now they lie in the dark. His head is pressed to her chest; his breath is even against her neck. She holds him tight against her body, and he clings like this is all he knows. This is all he needs in life. He needs this team, S.H.I.E.L.D., Coulson, and this woman, who he can cling to and who will never judge him just support him.
She knows that in just a few short hours they'll get up and he'll have to explain everything to Coulson. He hoped the team would react the same way she did, and is she was being honest with herself so was she. They will make a plan to take down Garrett and Hydra, and whatever it takes he will do it. He will prove his loyalty again. He will be a team member, he will follow Coulson's orders, and he will be that guy Skye needed and she will continue to be that for him.
Together they will fix him.
