Victor sat in the library of his large mansion. He spent most of the time that he wasn't with Victoria there. It was the perfect place to continue his drawing. Victor mostly drew flowers, and occasionally portraits of Victoria, but at the rarest of times he would draw the characters of the land of the dead. Although, during the nights when Victor couldn't sleep, he would draw Emily.

He would always start with her eyes, they had always been the most beautiful of her features. One time he drew that babbling maggot coming out of her ear. She used to be so naive, but she was a passionate pianist. Victor once drew her playing the piano in the bar, he looked at it for a while, but then he crumpled it up and threw it away.

Today he was drawing a butterfly when he heard music playing from downstairs. Victor got up and went down to see what was going on. Then the notes became awkward and off key. He looked over the banister to see Victoria sitting at the piano. She was staring at a sheet of music. Victoria tried putting her fingers to the keys and playing once more, but it didn't sound right. She let out a sigh and turned around. Her cheeks reddened as she came face to face with her husband, "Victor."

"Keep going."

"No, I can't. I don't play."

He sat down beside her, "I can teach you. You always wanted to play didn't you?"

"Well, yes."

"Alright then." Victor placed his fingers and did a quick run through of the sheet music. "Think you can do that?'

"Victor!" she giggled.

"Okay, let me see you play."

"It's embarrassing, I can't."

"Fine, place your hands on the keys." She did so and he put his on top of hers. Victor guided her hands across the keys. When he place down a finger hers would do the same. They went through the sheet of music like this a few times before moving on. "Okay, now that we've done that, let's try it with just you."

"But Victor, I'll mess it up!"

"That's the point. Messing up is what helps you learn. Now please try, do it for me?"

Victoria smiled, "Alright."

She placed her fingers on the starting keys and pressed them. Then it was on to the next few notes. Victoria didn't mess up when she did this, but it was a little too slow compared to the actual tempo.

Victor and Victoria spent the rest of the day sitting at the piano bench, and by sunset she had mastered the sheet of music. Before dinner they attempted the song side be side, giving it even more power. Victor was so lost in it for a moment and it reminded him of when he played with Emily.

"Victor?"

He glanced over to see Victoria sitting beside him.

"Are you alright?"

"Yes, I was just thinking."

"Dinner is ready."

"I'll be there in a moment, go ahead without me."

"Alright."

Victoria left his side and went to the dining room, leaving Victor alone at the piano. He let out a sad sigh. Was it wrong to say that he missed Emily? No, he loved Victoria, and all he did was miss Emily. A smile came across his face. Emily had sacrificed herself so that Victor could be with his true love, and that was Victoria. So he did have the right to miss a friend.

A butterfly landed on Victor's hand. "Well hello there, Emily."
