"Hello Richmond!" Moss was beaming holding out a cup of tea to him.
"... Hello, what do you want?" He didn't mean to sound rude, he just didn't know how to handle company. Moss just smiled and pulled him out of his room.
"Well, I was wanting to ask if you'd like to come over to my new flat for a few films, I have quite a surprised planned and hoped you'd take part."
Richmond stood stunned at the idea of someone wanting to spend time with him. He was so shocked he forgot how to talk and merely nodded in response.
"Fantastic! I'll just be heading out to get ready and be back to get you after work!"
Richmond spent the rest of the day thinking this was just a cruel joke, yet when Moss came back to show him where he lived something about the man made Richmond relax and he felt like he could trust him.
Moss had talked nonstop about how he was so proud of himself for getting his own flat and what movies he'd picked for the night.
When they got there Moss immediantly made popcorn and got out drinks for the two of them.
Richmond still couldn't believe what was happening here and his curiousity couldn't stand it anymore. "Moss... what is this? Why have you asked me here?"
Moss looked at him quickly before jumping up and grabbing the movies to choose which to watch first before finally looking back. "Well, you see I said I had a surprise and... well... wait here."
Richmond watched him as he ran to the kitchen and his eyes widened whe nMoss returned with a large beautiful cake that was set in front of him."
"Happy birthday Richmond!"
" How did you know? I never told anyone ..." Richmond never bothered to let his birthday be known to his coworkers, he figured they wouldn't care anyways.
"well I looked up all the records for the IT department workers, I'd look a fool if I didn't know as much as I said I do" He smiled proudly at the shock on Richmond's face.
"Moss.. thank you."
"Well go on now make a wish then."
Richmond stared at the candles for a while before finally closing his eyes and blowing out the candles.
After that night Richmond and Moss had become very good friends. They watched movies together every weekend. And Richmond was never left alone again.
