A/N: okay this is my first song fic I tried my best. It is to one of the best songs by Lifehoue called Breathing hope you like it :o)
I was standing in the desert. To my left was my best friend, Max. To my right was his sister, Isabel the person I'm meant to be with. She was supposed to be my destiny but standing in front of me...........standing in front of me was Maria. Maria the girl I loved. I opened my eyes and I wasn't in the desert anymore. I was laying on the couch with Maria sleeping in my arms.
I'm finding my way back to sanity again
though I don't really know what I'm gonna do when I get there
and take a breathe and hold on tight and spin around one more time
and gracefully fall back to the arms of grace
I sat up and gently lifted Maria's head off my chest and laid a pillow there instead. I got up and walked to the refrigerator. I grabbed out a bottle of water and looked over at Maria. It was times like those when I realized how much I loved her. When I could just watch her sleep, listen to her breathe.

When Maria and I first got together it was nothing remotely close to love. Even though that's true I believe that I always loved Maria but I never realized it. Once I did I couldn't it. I remember the day I did first realize I loved her.

The night Hank went too far. I went to Maria's and she let me in her room. She took care of me even though she didn't know what happened. She could see that something was wrong. She dried the rain off of me and let me sleep beside her. I eventually fell asleep but before I did I just laid there listening to her sleep. That's when I began to realize I love her.

Maria got tired of me hiding my feelings and she told me she loved me and even though I didn't respond to that in the right way she never left my side. She knew I loved her but soon I told her that.

I looked over to the couch as I heard Maria moving.
"Michael" she said.
I walked over and looked down into her eyes. "I'm right here" I said.
She smiled and I went to sit in the position I was in before I woke up. Maria's head leaning on my chest.
"I love you" I said giving her a kiss on the head.
"I love you too" she said closing her eyes and falling back to sleep. Before I went to sleep I sat there watching her sleep, listening to her breathe.
