Newborn

A heavy silence settled over the two males as they'd met up in the woods, as planned. The blonde spoke first. "You're absolutely sure... that you want to go through with this?" The immortal teenager's question was met with utter silence.

The flame-haired man replies with a brief nod, his emerald eyes holding a very set determination in their fleeting glints of light. He nods once more. "Yeah, I'm sure."

Roxas smirks. "You've got guts..." He nimbly dashes across the expanse of earth between the two in one swift movement, gazing upward into the eyes of his beloved mortal. "For a weak little human." He smiles up into Axel's eyes, revealing pearly white teeth, complete with a set of razor-sharp canines. The redhead absently threads his fingers through Roxas' silken blonde locks that always seem to be positioned perfectly. The pads of his fingers find their way down the boy's face, his cold and chalky skin contrasting beautifully against Axel's own warm, peach-colored hide. He traces his index finger gently over Roxas' soft lips, pink as a rose's descending petals on a frigid winter's day.
The other boy lifts himself up onto the tips of his toes to press his numb, cold lips against Axel's hot and flushed ones.

The immortal's teeth softly nip at Axel's, his lips kissing him down, down, down- across his cheek, down his neck, to rest peacefully just above the redhead's collarbone. "Are you ready, love?" The flame-haired man chuckles lightly, Roxas had abandoned his fake American accent, of which he developed in order to fit into the small town unquestioned, for his original British accent.

For a moment everything seems paused- neither boy can hear the gentle chirp of early-morning birds, nor the light scurry of tiny mammals above them in the foliage.
A twin prick, no worse than one of the finger taken place at the doctor's for a blood sample. For a second there, Axel had wondered why Roxas had been so hesitant in turning him in the first place- this didn't hurt at all.
And Roxas thought to himself, "I'm certainly going to miss that warm skin of his."

The redhead grasped at his chest as a strong thump ripped through it, not to be followed by even the weakest beat of his heart. Pain tore through his body as he was forced to hunch over and scream until his throat had become raw. He gasped for breath as it seemed his skull would burst open and he would die. His mouth burned incredibly as his incisors forced their way forth, tearing through the man's gums only to become significantly more prominent.
His eyes felt as if they were melting before the pain finally had gone away. Axel noticed that even though he'd long forgotten to breath, what with the immense pain, he felt somewhat alright. His hand rested once more against his chest to feel complete stillness. No thumping.

It was only at that moment did the redhead realize that he was being cradled in the smaller man's arms, Roxas' mouth dripping with blood, of which was now dry and brown because of the oxygen.

Axel had never seen a more beautiful sight.

They both gazed into each other's eyes with adoration, newborn crimson into aged gold, as Roxas stated, "You almost scared me to death."
