Final Destination – The Occult

Chapter one – new life

Emma laid back in her seat in silence staring out of the window of the plane. She would watch all of the clouds that passed by and compared each of them by their distinctive shapes and forms. This was a different year for Emma; she felt different, she acted different, she was indeed a changed person. Suddenly the year had passed by her eyes at the speed of light. She was being sent to the England from Ontario, Canada for an exchange student program she agreed to participate in several months before. There were two other applicants in the program as well. Emma thought, though she didn't want to have nothing to do with the world, she would go on with the program as a relaxing getaway. She expected a new life altogether, and a chance to get over her mother's death. Every night was different from one another. She would have these unusual dreams that wouldn't make sense at all, which wouldn't make her feel any better. Emma thought she could maybe connect with her mother spiritually through her dreams, just to see how she's doing in the afterlife, but she would fall short each time. She slowly felt her eyes beginning to become heavy, and soon fell asleep.

Emma awoke, realizing that it had already become dark outside. She closed the window shade and pulled her blanket over her while sinking into the chair. She then felt a slight shudder under her seat and shook her into consciousness. Suddenly, her seat busted through the floor and outside of the plane. She looked down trying to grasp for air realizing how high she was, and within seconds fell to the ground without any pain at all. She stood back up and was then hit by a car and flung her onto a speeding truck. The truck drove up a hill and ultimately ended up driving upside down until an immediate stop. She hung by the side view mirror of the truck, holding on for her life. Her heart pounded in her chest faster by the second. She screamed as she let go and fell…

And then woke up once again.

Emma found herself sweating and breathing roughly. She looked out of the window and saw a bright gleaming light given by the sun. It was then when the flight attendant came to her and asked if she would put her things away and fasten her seat belt. "We are preparing for landing, miss," and smiled widely. Emma gave back a smirk and a look of confusion and fright all at once.

Those weird dreams again…

She thought. Emma walked out of the plane into the England Airway and looked around; trying to visualize the picture of the family she was staying with from a photograph they had sent her. Thinking she had time to spare, she ran to the bathroom to wash up before she met her family. Emma walked into the restroom and looked around with astonishment. "It's so pretty… and clean." She thought. Afterwards, she washed her face and looked into the mirror, just happening to notice a glimpse of a small ball of light. Looking into the mirror weirdly, she quickly turned around and saw nothing. Thinking nothing of it, Emma simply walked out of the restroom fixing her shirt when she slipped on a British Railway brochure. She picked herself up and the brochure, and walked back to the terminal. Emma stood at the window for a while until her family finally came to bring her home.
