Mike hit Ryan's number again, it went straight to voicemail. Mike wasn't surprised, Ryan was probably hung-over and sleeping or drinking more. This was the second funeral Mike was going to, the first one was Claire's fake one. Now there was Debra's and Mike didn't know if he could handle it. There wasn't many here, her sister Beth was the only one, Mike got here later then he thought. Mike walked over to where the fresh dirt was and he placed a hand on Beth shoulder. She turned to him, she looked so much like Debra.

"Hi Beth, I'm Mike Weston we talked on the phone." Beth nodded and wiped her eyes. "I'm so sorry for your loss. Debra worked with me and she was great at everything she did."

"Why did they do this?"

"I couldn't tell you." Beth laid down flowers on her sister's grave and turned to leave.

"Thank you, Mike." Beth left and Mike sat down beside the pile of fresh dirt.

Debra Ann Parker, 1975-2013 loving sister and friend. That's what the piece of stone said, that little dash stood for her life. Mike you're a good man, don't lose that. Mike heard her voice ring through his ears, it hurt so much. Mike didn't prepare himself for this, this job was the first job out of the office and he didn't know he would get beaten into a pulp and lose a friend. Mike sat there and cried, why wasn't Ryan here? He should be here! No, he destroyed his life and drank and drank. Mike wanted to hate him, so why couldn't he? The man he looked up to was now the man he pitied and the only one that could save him is Claire. She died, Mike kept telling himself over and over again, hoping one day he would believe it. The sun started to go down and Mike knew he would have to go to the airport soon.

"Goodbye, I'll try to stay a good man." Mike walked off and past Debra, who he couldn't see but she was smiling.

"Oh Mike I know you will."

Tell me what you thought it was a little short. I don't know why I came up with ghost Debra I just felt like it fit and I hope you thought so to :).
