Cato stormed away from the dead boy, growling under his breath. He would show that damned airhead who was the real victor here. She was making a fool of him, first with the tracker-jackers and now this!
That girl from District 12 was going to pay dearly for this. No-one made a fool of Cato.
It wasn't enough to just kill or torture her. No, he had to teach her a lesson. He had to show her who was really in charge, who was calling the shots in these games. He needed her under his mercy.
Cato lost himself as he imagined her last moments. He would first wipe that smirk off her face. He may even allow Clove to carve up her pretty face for a bit, so that she won't be able to make any facial expressions. He would then force her to strip down. The only rule of the games was to not step outside their spot in the first minute, but there were no rules against rape. He was sure the crowd would enjoy seeing that- seeing him as he finally dominated her. He would make sure that she pleaded for her life on her knees before he killed her. He would humiliate her, and maybe would even kill lover-boy in front of her.
She had to suffer like he did.
If you couldn't figure out when this took place, it was after Katniss blew up their supplies and Cato had a temper tantrum. I was surprised that Susanne Collins didn't put this spin on Cato- he totally seems to be the kind who would rape Katniss to humiliate her and show her who's boss. I think that's one thing that the characters seemed to lack; even though she alluded to some of their darker natures, like murder and such, she didn't make it seem as dark as they could have been. Some of those characters could have been much more twisted than they were.
