A.N.: Hi guys! It's been a long while. If you don't read my profile, then you should know that this is based on the story I'm writing with my best friend NataliaMikealson. I did this little drabble to see your reaction to my OC character, Ivy. I hope you enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own anything that has to do with The Vampire Diaries show or the books by L.J. Smith. All I own is my OC character Ivy.
Spring Reflection
Ivy was used to the game. Because that was exactly what it is, a game, at least to her it is. Circling around her prey like a shark she grinned in excitement. The chase is the best part of hunting. Her prey is an average male with dark hair and brown eyes. His breath is erratic with fear and she relishes in it. His eyes wondered back in forth trying to see who follows him, but it is in vain. In the next moment she has dropped from her hiding spot and he gasps in surprise. She just grins manically up at him and her eyes start to darken with need. He screams with fear and tries to run. They always try to run, Ivy thinks with amusement. She lets him go for about five seconds before chasing him into the shadows. Just when he thinks he's free, she's there to flatten his vain hope of freedom. Ripping into his neck, she gulps greedily, not trying to soften the blow. His screaming makes the blood taste that much better. It's only about a minute before his pulse slows until it is no more. Dropping his body carelessly, she smirks to herself while staring at the moon. It glows eerily with a tint of red. She swipes her tongue over her lips and hums in enjoyment. Her fangs fade from view and she looks like any other woman. A woman with a crazy smile on her face, but still an ordinary, human woman she looks. She wishes it were true sometime. Eternity is a long time to live. She misses her human life. Though not the weakness it came with though. She hates being or showing weakness. Grabbing the body, she turns away from the alleyway and towards the river nearby. Throwing the body into the roaring water, she reflects on a familiar pair of blue eyes. She hates thinking about them because they always cause her to become depressed or angered to the point of decimating a whole town. The only reason she hadn't done that yet was because she hates attention of any kind on her. Not that they would be able to prove it was her that is. She tries to never leave any evidence. The body she had just thrown away never be found. The river was known for being murky and hard to cross by boat so she should be safe. The blue eyes crossed her vision again and she signed in frustration. She missed him. That she could admit. It had been thirty years since she last saw him. She would have not left him, but Nik her ex-boyfriend and also vampire, had come into the club she had been in. She tried to avoid him, especially after what she did to him the last time she had seen him. He wouldn't be happy to see her and her him. Leaving had been the right thing to do, but she still regrets leaving Damon. His expression would always be in her memory. Anger and anguish, but most importantly sadness filled the usually bright eyes of his. Shaking her head of the memories she stared from her perch beside of the river up at the moon again, basking in its radiant light.
The day and year was May 5, 1959.
