This is
just a one-shot with Yusuke and his mom… (Kind of point less, but I
have been having a writer's block again… heehee?)
She was drinking her life away, like always. Her son was always gone, always away from her; she can't blame him because it was her alcohol addiction that pushed him away.
She wanted to tell him that she loved him with all her heart, which she never meant to push him away and that she was hurting inside.
She looked at her son's picture. He had a scowl on his face, like always, and his chestnut eyes were hardened and masked: like always.
'Yusuke, I am so sorry,' was this woman's thought while she took another swig of her vodka. She made a face when she swallowed it. 'You would think that I'd be used to this by now.' She looked back down at her son's picture.
KNOCK KNOCK
"Mom! I forgot my keys!" The woman looked up from her position. Everything was blurry. She dropped the picture- forgetting her recent thoughts- and dragged herself to the front door.
Once she reached the door, she noticed the young, strong man's head roll back a bit at the alcoholic stench that hit his nose. "Ma, you were drinking again! Look at this mess! No wonder why I don't ever bother coming home! God damn-it!" The young man flashed angry chestnut eyes to his mother. The sight he saw made him sick. His mother puked. "Great! Jest oh-so-fucking GREAT!" The man shouted angrily.
He dragged his mother to the bathroom and lifted his mother's head over the toilet bowl seat. Then he left to clean up the mess his failure-of-a-mother's mess.
"Y-yusuke!" The sickly woman shouted. "For Christ's sake, what!" The man identified as Yusuke answered. "I-I'm sorry…" Yusuke's mother softly replied before coughing up a bit.
Yusuke sighed. "Yeah ma, I know you are," Yusuke, by this time, had already cleaned up the puke and was back in the bathroom holding his 39 year old mother's hair up.
His mother passed out after that. Yusuke carried her to her room. Yusuke wasn't so much mad that his mom was still drinking her life away, but more to the fact that he was 20, still living with his mother, and was still acting as if he was the parent taking care of a defenseless three year old. He comes home to this everyday. He had to get a job to support his mother, and worst of it, he couldn't keep Kayko just because he couldn't make time for her.
Yusuke left his mother's room and went back into the living room and plopped down onto the couch. When he finally made himself comfy, he turned the TV on. He wasn't all that interested in the TV so much. This made his eyes look over the living room area. He could see the conjunction in the room that was the hallway, and the other conjunction led to the kitchen.
Then his eyes traveled to a corner of the room where an empty bottle of vodka lay on the floor. He saw a piece of shiny, crumbled paper and wondered what it was.
He got off the couch and walked over to it. That's when he saw it was a picture of him.
It made him smile and made him realize that his mom still cares, but just needs help.
I know this was pointless, but I thought it would be kind of sweet in a way.
