I walked into the apartment then threw my shoes off and set my keys on the table then flopped on the couch, I looked around the empty room and hoped that my brother would be home early. I sighed and turned on the T.V, switching the five o'clock news to Space Heroes.

"common Captain Ryan! You have to win this one." I cheered to the T.V, "not that you don't win every episode anyway…" I sighed again and relaxed into the couch, I only watched this show because there is no good cartoons on after school, well, not on the weekdays it's usually Friday that the good cartoons come on, like Avengers or even just a random new cartoon that ends up getting cancelled, which is too bad some of those cartoons show potential and have good characters.

The show ended and I grabbed my sketchbook and began to draw whatever came to mind and today that was warriors from different planets, with old looking technology for armour and crazy bones from creatures from their home planets, you know, the usual things that I draw.

In 20 minutes I had the general pose down, another half hour I had the outline and a few details, one more hour I had more details, I glanced up at the clock and back to my book, another half hour and my head was starting to hang and my eyes were slowly blurring out of focus. I felt my pencil fall out of my hand but I was too lazy at this point to get it…my back sunk into the pillow behind me and my shoulders fell softly into a comfy position. My feet were warm and the light hum of a show on T.V lulled me to sleep.

BANG!

I jumped, my sketchbook fell to the floor, I looked around shocked, what was that? An earthquake? No too small to be an earthquake but too big to be a gun shot. I went to the window and started to hear yelling from the roof, I don't know why but I ran out my door. Heading to the roof, I had to go up three flights of stairs, I heard every step on the clanking metal steps. By the time I got to the top I was out of breath and the noises had stopped.

I opened the roof door slowly and I seen…absolutely nothing, nothing had changed, nothing was moved but in the back of my mind I felt like something was up here, I walked through the door and closed it softly behind me and searched anyplace the moon light could not reach and although unnecessary I ducked and crawled around the roof for at least 2 minutes.

I stood up straight and looked around, that's when I saw it, no not it, him but he could pass as an 'it' from here, in the shadow his body looked…odd…he looked human but maybe built a little different from that. I looked around him and seen that there was a huge claw mark on one of the metal boxes on the roof.

I walked closer to him and he didn't move, his face was down and I couldn't see exactly what he looked like, I pulled out my phone from my pocket, not paying attention to the new text message from my brother and going to my flashlight, turning it up brighter, I shined the light to the guy onto his face, I nearly dropped my phone.

"I giant turtle…" I whispered under my breath.
