The sprawling maze of Victory Road seemed to be endless, especially for the young trainer trying to find her way through to get to the Elite Four. Before entering the caves, the task of navigating her through it seemed easy. How hard was it to get through a cave? Obviously harder than she had thought. When she had first came in, countless numbers of pokemon had attacked her. Battle after battle, getting through Victory Road had become frustrating and boring. Now all she wanted to do was leave and never come back. But it was too late for that. She was already halfway through, with no idea of where she had to go. Gritting her teeth, she continued to try finding some sort of way out. She had no luck however. Suddenly, dust and bits of rock showered down from the cave ceiling. The trainer looked up to see a shadow of a pokemon drop down from the shower of dirt. This was a familiar experience. Not another geodude, she thought, as her brows furrowed in frustration. She then grabbed a pokeball from her bag and tossed it, hoping to get this over with quickly. That's when she saw... it... The pokemon that had attacked her was a geodude all right. But not just any geodude. The rock-like creature's skin was gold! This could only mean one thing...
"Shiny!" she screamed, likely loud enough for all of Kanto to hear. This was the first shiny she had ever seen, let alone encountered. She had heard rumors before about these rare, different coloured pokemon, but she had never had the chance to see one. Now was her moment of glory. She had found one. Suppressing a squeal of joy, she managed to give an order to the pokemon she had sent out.
"Poppy!" she yelled excitedly to her butterfree, "Use Confusion!" The purple butterfly obeyed, sending strong mind waves to her opponent. The geodude flinched in pain, but stood it's ground. Or... just floated on it. They don't have legs... Anyway it was the enemy's turn to attack. But to the trainer's horror, the geodude began glowing white. She had seen this move before!"NO!" she cried, but her plea was ignored. Time seemed to stop. Then...
BOOM!
It had exploded, sending a huge dust cloud filling the caves and creating a huge noise that could probably be heard in Kalos. Strangely though, through the sound of the explosion, every one in Victory Road could hear profane words that shouldn't be repeated in front of children erupt from the furious trainer.
The wild geodude used self-destruct, said the game's text. The girl playing clutched the DS in her hands as she stared blankly at the screen, showing the first shiny she had ever encountered explode before her eyes. Fury boiled in her stomach. Slamming the DS down, she yelled something profane.
"FU-!"
Well, that was experience with shinies. This was my first story by the way. Constructive criticism is always appreciated. No mean comments please or I'll explode like that damned shiny geodude did in my FACE! Hope you enjoyed and didn't have a terrible experience with a shiny like I did. Bye!
