One shot I wrote half of a while ago and finished with a little bit of a twist ;] plz enjoy! =] To Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would Suck Without You
"Goodbye Riley." KC whispered, fighting back tears. They were winning.
"Bye, KC." Riley responded, embracing her, Tears began to flow from KC's eyes. For some reason, Riley could tell that she was crying, even though they were still hugging each other.
"It's okay KC, I'll be back soon." He soothed, gently stroking her haired. KC nodded and released the embrace.
"See you in a month." KC said, trying to spoon up as much excitement as she could. Riley nodded and backed out of her driveway. KC looked at Riley's face one last time before she turned for her house. She ran into the house and straight to her room, breaking down on the way. She hobbled over to her bed and let herself fall onto it. If it wasn't hard enough with Riley leaving, but Sam, Zack, and Jackie were all on vacations visiting relatives. KC lay where she was as the day dimmed into the darkness of the night. She knew that she had to do something; she was bored out of her mind. She rolled off her bed and onto the cold floor, her feet cringing as they hit it. She ignored it and made her way down the stairs and out into the backyard. Being without Riley totally sucked for her. After all he was her best friend and always entertained her in some way whenever she was upset or bored. She tried to remember some of the things that they had gotten into but it was too hard to think of all the good times they had. As she made her way into her backyard, she immediately noticed the tree in the corner of it. She ran over to it and began to climb it. She reached the uppermost branches quickly and chose one to sit on. She stared at the moon and yearned for Riley. As she became engrossed in the moon, she heard a snap from beneath her. It caught her attention to late; for the branch snap and she fell. Her vision went black.
"KC?" Riley asked, his voice sounding oddly distant. KC felt her arms around something; something breathing.
"W-w-where am I?" she asked thoughtlessly.
"Base camp, KC," Riley replied, "hugging me."
"What? I thought you were-" KC began but didn't finish the sentence. She realized that she had hugged Riley in her sleep-and was still hugging him.
"Case?"
"Sorry. It must have been a dream." KC said quickly and removed her arms from Riley.
"What dream?" Riley asked, confused.
"Nothing, just some stupid nightmare." KC replied.
"Well okay. We're gonna leave soon so you wanna watch the screen while I pack up?" Riley suggested.
"Sure." KC responded sleepily. Riley smiled at her and stood up. She realized how much she enjoyed Riley's presence, especially when they were investigating. She would always hug Riley a little longer now.
