I have to get out of here, thought Mitsuko, who was 5 years old. No matter what it takes, I can't stay here anymore. All of a sudden a man with dark eyes and long hair came to where she was hiding, and the little girl screamed.
"You don't think you can hid e from me, do you Mitsuko? You are a foolish little girl, and foolish little girls need to be punished."
"Father, NO! I'm sorry..I didn't mean to upset you!" she cried, fearing what her punishment might be.
"Yes, Mitsuko." He frowned, staring at her white hair and purple eyes. "You look so much like your mother."
My mother? He's never mentioned her before. She almost smiled.
"Come now," he said, grabbing her hand and pulling into a room. Oh no, she thought, he's going to do another experiment on me!
He glared at her. "FASTER!" He said, shoving her into the room filled with demons and potions. He set her on the ground as his demons surrounded her, and he chained her to the ground. "You look TOO much like your mother." With that, he began manipulating her and changing her appearance. HE burned two black marks on her face, a thin line on each cheek. He stepped back from his work. I can still see her mother through her...those eyes..and that hair..
By this time, Mitsuko had passed out. Without Naraku's knowing it, a small dog youkai had snuck into the room, knowing she would be undetected because of all the other demons. These youkai could not harm her if they tried, though, her aura was pure, and any evil that touched her was instantly purified. The small inu youkai couldn't stand what she saw was being done to the little Mitsuko.
Once Naraku was done changing the way Mitsuko looked...which consisted of the burn marks on her face, permanently changing her hair color to black, and injecting a fluid into her eyes making them a piercing blue, he left her in the room, surrounded by his demons.
The inu youkai came over and laid her head on Mitsuko's lap. This little dog demon was a strange one, living on forever with the powers of a miko, but only the size of a puppy. This inu youkai began licking Mitsuko's hand, transferring some of her power into Mitsuko, including controlling all of the elements: fire, water, wind, and earth...plus the control of nature. She also gave Mitsuko the ability to transform into a full dog youkai, something usually only full blooded youkai could do. The inu youkai stood up, watching Mitsuko carefully. "My powers of the miko have also been transferred. Once you discover your powers, Naraku will not be able to harm you. Be safe, my child.." The dog vanished on the spot.
The little Mitsuko woke up, feeling strange. She stood up shakily, noticing she was still bound in chains. I dare not speak, or my father will be angry.. she thought, and looked up at the looking glass. She sighed as she saw her new appearance. The only thing connecting me with my mother was looking like her...I suppose I look nothing like her, or father, now... She carefully touched the marks on her face, still burning into her skin painfully. "At least they don't look like they are burn marks.." She covered her mouth, closing her eyes tightly. Please let him not to have heard that..
All of a sudden she heard her father's harsh voice, coming down the stairs. "Shut up you wench. Can't you see I'm thinking!"
