Forest of Darkness

He looked at Sam. Her eyes, green once more, her hair down, and the darkness surrounding her. But this girl, who looked just like Sam, was not her, she couldn't be her. This girl, in his beloved Sam's body, was controlled. The green vine wrapped around her. Words flooded through his mind, but only one question really came out on top. How could this have happened again?

His heart nearly stopped at the sight of Sam. Her lips turned up into a small smile. Her voice came out clear. "Oh, Danny, won't you join us!" it was obvious that his best friend, his secret beloved, was giving up. His heart fell. She was his strength, and if she even could not put up a fight against the demon inside her, he would let the darkness come over him too. He would give up, spending the rest of his life by her side, in this forest of darkness.

Sam was letting the darkness win, her mind was starting to fade into a num oblivion. She had started to let it, until she saw him. His eyes sad with a lost she could not comprehend. Is he giving in because of me? Does he really care? Her mind set into overdrive.

"When the darkness surrounds you, know that I will always try to start a fire. It may burn down the forest, it may consume me. But if it can save you from that darkness, I would burn it all." She was not sure if she managed to say these word or just think them, but she knew one thing, she would not let the darkness win. The darkness would not take her. It would not take Danny. It would not even take Paulina or Dash. The darkness would not win, even if it meant destroying herself, for him.

A flash of light came over her, the green wavy ghost vines withered away from the heat emerging from her body. The fire began to spread leaving every person safe, but killing the newly made ghost forest. Sam's newly discovered power touched Danny last. His eyes snapped to reality the second the darkness slipped away from him.

"Sam… How? You were- But? Thank you…" He could not find the words. He wanted to say everything, and, yet, nothing. A faint smile traced her lips, her eyes fluttered shut, and her body collapsed. He ran toward her.

"SAM!" was he too late. He held her in his arms. Tears began to fall from his eyes, roll down his cheeks, and off his chin. He was too late.

Danny being stupid did not check her pulse, he did not see if she was breathing, and he did not notice her movements. Yes, Sam was alive and felt like she just woke up from a well rest sleep. The thing that surprised her when she awoke was that her small, tiny body was held so close to someone's chest that she had no air to breath.

She gasped for air. Danny looked down, the tears in his eyes instantly changed from tears of sadness to tears of joy. "Sam, You're a- "

A new voice entered the conversation.

"Yo, Fenton! What the Hell just happened?" it was Dash's. Danny unable to answer looked down at Sam. Another small smile appeared on her lips. She spoke calmly.

"The forest was burnt with a spark of passion," She looked away shyly, glancing back at him through the corner of her eye. His eyes did not turn away once; instead he stared down at her in shock. She continued.

"That spark of passion was ignited by my love for you." Her words did not faze him. He looked down at her, pushing closer to her face. Right before their lips met, he whispered, "I love you, too, I always have." Then there lips met, that spark turned into a full out fire in their hearts, making sure the darkness would never take them over again.
