Spark of Hope

"Alicia Spinnet – will you marry me?"

She laughs and nods and kisses him, of course she will. She has been waiting patiently for this day for many years, knowing very well that this step is always a big one, for every man, but even more so for George. And no matter how hard it has been at times, she's always understood why he hasn't been able to do this sooner.

'Till Death us do part' is a phrase she knows he is scared of, and she can't even blame him.

She wants to kiss him again, but instead he takes out his wand and says the words she hasn't heard from him in a long time.

A silvery light emerges from the tip of his wand, nothing corporal, no defined form and not strong enough to grow larger.

But it's been ten years since the last time he's used that spell, and Alicia thinks she's never seen anything more beautiful than this silver spark of hope.

A/N:

Recently, while doing some George Weasley research, I read a statement that he would never again be able to cast a Patronus. Now I can't find the source anymore so maybe that was just some rumour spread by fans. But it did make me wonder if George would be able to perform a Patronus charm when all his happy memories include Fred. Personally, I think it would be just too sad if he was never happy again.

This got into my head tonight, I tried to make it a proper drabble but I wasn't able to put this into only 100 words.
