Freddie was sitting on the Shay apartment couch, typing on his PearBook. Carly and Spencer were out, so he was gonna stay in the apartment just in case Sam walked in and ate all the stuff in the refrigerator. Personally, after the incident with the lock-in, Freddie wasn't really into running into Sam again.
Unfortunately, Sam walked in. "Hey, Fredward," she said. She didn't sound very upbeat.
"How'd you get in here?" Freddie asked. "I locked the door."
"I like pickin' stuff," Sam said, holding out a paperclip.
"I should've known," Freddie said, rolling his eyes.
For a moment there was silence.
"Why'd you do it?" Freddie asked Sam.
"Do what?"
"Why'd you kiss me at the lock-in?"
Sam clearly expected this question. "Well…" she said, thinking. She'd expected it, but she hadn't thought of it. "Because."
"Because what?"
"You were talking about putting feelings…"
"Yeah, I know. Don't have to repeat it."
"I didn't."
"Well you were about to!"
"Look, this conversation's going nowhere."
Freddie shrugged and went back to his computer.
"Hey, you enjoyed it!" Sam said, realizing this was the perfect opportunity to mess with Freddie.
"I did not!" Freddie said, looking up again.
"You did to. I felt you kiss back."
"You felt wrong."
"Yeah? Well that came out wrong."
"I was…agh!"
"I still felt you kiss back," Sam said.
"Your breath smelled like ham," Freddie replied.
"You still liked it."
"I'm not having this conversation."
Freddie started to type on his computer.
Sam stood there, still looking at Freddie.
"Maybe I…" Freddie said, stopping.
"Maybe you…?"
"Maybe I kinda liked it."
"BURNED!" Sam yelled, running around the room.
Freddie rolled his eyes. "Look, I'm not saying I'd do it again."
Sam leaned over to his ear and whispered loudly. "Would you do it again?"
"Well," Freddie said. He was still unsure about what he felt. "Maybe."
"Would ya do it here?" Sam asked, leaning closer.
"Not here," Freddie said. "I'm working."
"Come on," Sam said. "Two friends…alone."
Freddie hadn't been paying attention, but when he did, he realized Sam's head was uncomfortably close to his.
"I'M OUT!" Freddie snapped. He slammed his computer shut and walked out the door back to his apartment.
Sam looked at the door. She shrugged and walked over to the kitchen. "Now I get to eat all the stuff in the fridge," she said. "Oh look! Ham!"
