VISITS

He stared at the window before making a move. It was about 2am in the human world. He knew for ages that Rangiku was to stay in Karakura Town with his captain, as guards. Yet, he never managed to escape Tousen's blind eyes. The last thing he needed is suspicion in his ways, and the last thing he'd want is putting Rangiku in danger. If Aizen will ever learn about his feelings and longings for the 10th squad vice-captain, he'll probably get rid of her - something he made clear when he started going out with him and Tousen back when he was the third seat of the 5th squad. His loyalty must belong to Aizen alone. He cursed in the darkness. He never feared Aizen; he can beat him if he wants. But he doesn't know the strings Aizen might pull to hurt Rangiku. He'd known, always known, how malicious and how filthy Aizen's ways are. If he could only be sure of Rangiku's safety, he'll never hesitate of killing Aizen.

The moon's light faded against the dark clouds.

"Why, the sky is gloomy tonight." He thought glancing up, staring at the dimly lighted heavens. He is aware of all Aizen's weak points and all the ways to kill him. But Aizen got the better of him, knowing the only weakness of Ichimaru Gin – that one person he would not dare get hurt. Matsumoto Rangiku.

The early morning breeze swept against his silver hair as he shunpoed to Rangiku's room. He opened her bedside window, at around past two. Around this time, Rangiku's sleep is the deepest, she'd not wake up unless you spit in her face. He smiled remembering all the memories. How he woke up at around this time, every night, to simply look at her sleeping face, back when they we're in Rukongai? He approached her bed in the quietest way. The dim light of the moon flowed in the open window and flooded the room. He allowed himself a smile as he sat at the edge of her bed, sitting beside her, filling his senses with her sweet scent.

He held her hand and kissed her fingers one by one. There are many things he wants to tell her but the silence is too lovely to break.

When they we're assigned in different divisions in the Soul Society, he'd creep out of his bed at around this time and sneak into her bedroom, and watch her in her sleep.

Back to the present time, Gin noted how Matsumoto's orange-plum hair framed her delicate face, how her face seem to be sad despite its serenity. He held her hand to his chest, against his heart, knowing he is the reason of that sadness he sees in her face. The rain slowly poured from the sky, rendering the wind with sudden coldness.

He sighed and stared at her face intently, as if memorizing the features he already knew by heart. He closed his eyes and let her feel the heart that beats for her alone. The rain started to pour rather heavily against the roof. He knew he needed to leave. He hated to see the loneliness in her face when he leaves, that's the reason why, as long he can he leaves her while she's asleep. He leaned to kiss her lips, the soft lips he longed to feel against his everyday.

He heaved a heavy sigh and turned to leave.

"Gin."

He smiled bitterly.

"You still whisper my name in your sleep." He thought and glanced at her; she had turned to his direction as if sensing his departure once again. A silent tear streaked to her cheek, he hesitated for a moment, then went back to kiss the tear away.

"I love you." he whispered against her lips as he kissed her one last time, against the heavy pelting of the rain. The kiss was soft and pure, as is their love.

He turned to the window once more; the rain had drenched the surroundings. He left at once, knowing that if he is to stay a little longer, he might return to her bed again. As he went the streaks of the rain in his face hid his tears.
