SHE MOVED ON AND YOU?

It is one week to Christmas. Luke asked me to come to Stars Hollow because Liz has organized a Christmas party. I sweared a long time ago to never come back in this crazy little town full of freaks but then Luke went on about how a wonderful present it would be my visit for Liz and so in the end here I am… what can I tell you I like it or not (and usually I don't) she is always my mother.
I obviously thought about seeing her.
I think that thought never left my mind since that night in my bookstore in Philly , since she told me that she was in love with the rich-brat.
I wonder if she is still with him. If she forgave him in the end"
She can tell me what she wants but I still think that she is only going through some kind of rebellious phase … well to tell you the truth I hope that it is the case.
Luke told me also that he and Lorelai had broken up and that now she is married to Rory's father
Wow! A lot can happen in only six months!
Now I am strolling around the town ( for lacks of better things to do in this hell hole)when I see Lane, wait.. a very pregnant Lane!
Virgin Lane is pregnant .. well obviously ex virgin but that's not the point here.
I see that she sees me so I go towards her.
"What are you doing here?"
OK she was never my number one fan but…
"Lane, Merry Christmas to you too"
"Yeah, yeah Merry Christmas. I repeat my question again, What the hell are you doing here?"
"My mother's Christmas Party. It's my sister's first Christmas and Liz wanted me here so here I am"
" Well I guess that makes sense"
"Glad you approve Lane"
" She is not here"
"What?"
"You know what. You are here walking around the town hoping to see her but she is not here or in this continent for that matter."
"Why? Are she and her parents away for vacations?"
"No. Lorelai and Christopher will spend Christmas with her parents"
"So what?! She and her mom fought and now they don't speak to each other again?"
" For someone smart you can be a real dumb sometimes…. Rory is in Europe.. with Logan"
"Porsche guy"
"or Jet guy if you prefer…"
"So now she is in Europe but she'll come back before Christmas, right?"
"I don't think so.. she'll stay in Europe for two weeks… London, Paris, Rome, you don't have to have everything planned if you own a private jet"
"Wait a minute, Rory Gilmore will not spend Christmas with her mom?"
"This is none of your business but with Rory at Yale and Logan around for business makes sense that they spend Christmas together. Beside that Lorelai has Christopher now"
"Things have changed"
"Yeah but doesn't mean that is a bad thing"
"Is she .. you know.. happy?"
" I have never seen her so happy before"
"But this is not what she wanted .. the life she planned "
"Yeah when she was seventeen but she has grown up since then and you too. She has moved on and you should do it too."
With that she turns away from me and goes away.
I am left standing here in the centre of the town , near the gazebo.
My thoughts are all for her.
She who is on the other side of the world with another man.
A man who she proclaims to love and she is happy with
She who took my heart away along time ago and never returned it to me.
She who is the love of my life but now understand that I'm not hers.
