A/N All the characters and places you recognise here are based on J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. The story below however is entirely my own.
Breakfast for dinner
He could hear her munching from across the room. Remus looked at his watch. 11:32. At night. And she was eating… "Cereal?" he burst out, half-laughing, his sudden impulsivity probably caused by a mixture of general tension (full moon was fast approaching) and sleep deprivation.
Tonks looked up, a little taken aback. "Yeah." When he kept his eyes on her, she gave him an apologetic smile and added, "I really like the crunchiness of it. Surely you also get late-night cravings sometimes?"
Remus just murmured affirmatively and turned back to the report he was writing. Oh, she had no idea…
Dancing in the moonlight
"Come on, that's a nice song!" Beaming, he pulled her hand in an attempt to make her get up.
"Oh no, you know how clumsy I am! I can't-" But before Tonks could finish, Remus had already lifted her up and was now carrying her onto the dancefloor of the little tavern. She laughed when he put her down and immediately pulled her close again.
"I hope you know what you're getting yourself into," she whispered into his ear as they gently started to move to the music.
"Yes." He kissed her softly on the head. "Will you marry me?"
Going home
Ironically, it was raining. He was drenched to the bone when he knocked on the door, and his appearance adequately emphasised how miserable he felt.
"Don't worry, I'll get it!" Even muffled, her voice made his heart beat violently against his chest. "Who's there?"
Remus cleared his throat. "Dora…"
The door flew open at once, and there she was. They stared at each other for a moment.
"I would punch you in the face right now if I didn't love you so much," she almost sobbed, before pulling him into a vigorous embrace. He was finally home, here with her.
Fighting for us
Curses were flying all around him as he desperately tried to find her in the crowd of duellers. Remus had distinctly heard her call his name just moments ago. Frantically avoiding spells, he started running in no particular direction. He had to get to her.
Suddenly, a large figure appeared in front of him. Raising his wand instinctively, he could hardly deflect the jet of purple.
And then he saw her. She was looking at him when her face was abruptly illuminated by a flash of green light. Before he realised what had happened, everything went from green to black.
A/N Writing these, I might just have fallen in love with drabbles. And it all started because I wanted to write a scene with someone eating cereal at night (like I tend to do)!
Obviously, I think that we don't get to see enough of the Remus & Tonks relationship, and I had fun exploring it in more detail. Remadora forever! :)
