The Lost Letter
Annie Cresta sat down, her emerald-teal eyes swimming with tears. As she had been looking through the moving boxes that will soon embark to District 4, she had found a small glass bottle, corked, with a worn piece of parchment in it. She had unfolded it and began reading the precious final words of her love:
To Annie
If you fine this letter, it probably means I'm dead. For a better future, there must always be a sacrifice. And if I must be sacrificed to save my son, so be it.
Annie, I want you to know, you have been my fire, my lighthouse, my rock in this fight. You've been my rock, that kept me steady. You've been my lighthouse, to guide me home. My fire, that's kept me burning strong. But you were there, to quench the fire with your love and compassion.
That day, that we got married in 13, was the happiest day of my life. Now I could tell the world, I love you, and declare I love you forever. Annie, you crept up on me and showed me how to love and trust, something I had long diminished. Annie, I will never stop thinking about you, or caring for you. You are my whole world and my everything. When you were rescued, I felt as though the world disappeared, and you were my only reality.
And I'm sorry I won't be able to keep my promise to you, to return to the sea with you and our son, one last time. But I will always be with you. When my son asks about me, tell him I'm with the ocean.
Little Annie, this is my final farewell. I love you more then anything. As long as the waves crash over the beaches of District 4, I will love you more then you'll ever know
-Finnick
