Text Messaging Mayhem

by Starsinger

Blame Ty Pennington and the folks at Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (no, don't them either). Last week they had a girl's room wired so that her friends were able to text message her and the messages would appear on her television screen. That is so cool! No, still don't own them.

Peter was in the attic, rummaging through some old boxes when his phone beeped at him, "Watcha doin'?" came the text.

He didn't recognize the number, "Looking through boxes."

"Why?" came the return reply.

"I thought I had left behind a pair of tennis shoes, I'm hoping to find them."

"Okay," came the reply. He didn't hear from the mysterious texter again until he reached his room. There, on the television screen was another message. "Go to the Common Room." He sighed, someone was playing games. Kitty's phone was on the desk, so he didn't have a clue as to whom it was. He ventured down to the Common Room to find a piece of paper taped to the TV. "Come to the Garage," it read.

Well, Peter loved a good mystery, and this had better be good. He found Logan and Kurt out in the garage, talking. Logan looked up and handed him an envelope without stopping his conversation, it contained a set of keys and instruction to take the red car. "I don't suppose I'm going to get an answer out of either of you," he stated. Logan simply winked and Kurt smiled. The conversation continued unabated.

He pulled the car out and started out of the drive as the GPS came on, giving him turn by turn directions. Obviously, someone didn't want him getting lost, or knowing where he was going. He arrived at a malt shop, the very one that he and Kitty had gone on a very early date. He smiled as he entered, she sat in the same booth eating a Sundae. He smiled as he joined her, "Howdy, stranger, would you like my cherry?" she asked mischievously.

Peter burst out laughing, "So, it was you!" He sat across from her and plucked the cherry from her hand. "Mmmmm, delicious. How many people were in on this?"

"Hisako, Logan, Kurt, Derek, and Scott," she said, adding them up on her fingers. "Hisako let me borrow her phone, and Derek wrote the note on the TV." He leaned over the Sundae and kissed her. "Why, sir, if I didn't know better, I'd think you wanted more than my cherry," she drawled in a really bad imitation of Rogue.

"Let me get you home and I'll show you what my designs are," he growled.
