It is premeditated, it is decided. It is unforgiving, it is biased. It is permanent, it is forever.
Destiny is a bitch.
It watched over generations after generations of The Families; Campbell and Winchester. It kept them going when life was too harsh, it pulled them down when the opulence became excessive. It was Destiny that brought The Families' red string together, it was Destiny that tied the final knot, it was Destiny that made their Fate cruel.
Destiny, old as God and Death's first Words, watched.
Destiny watched as the Father's First Son threw His Second into a cage of Darkness, Ice and Regret.
Destiny watched as the demons made a Deal with the woman with hair made of sunshine, as she wept over the loss of the man with raven locks.
Destiny watched the Fire consumed the sunshine, watched the raven-haired man fall apart, watched two young and ancient souls lose heir way to the Hunt.
Destiny watched as they suffered, and spared them nothing more than a single shrug of incorporeal shoulders.
Destiny watched as they suffered Hell, raised Hell, jumped into Hell.
Destiny watched as they sealed Hell shut.
Destiny watched the two young and ancient souls.
Their parents named them Dean and Samuel Winchester.
The angels knew them as the True vessels of Michael and Lucifer.
The demons knew them as the Righteous Man and the Boy-King.
God and Death knew them as Destiny's children.
Destiny, with its two oldest allies and adversaries by its side, greeted the two souls at the End.
For who has a greater destiny than them?
