"Andrew-san, where's Kira?"

"I don't know Lacus-san. He hasn't come in yet." Andrew was somehow speaking calmly, but I was frantic. Genesis had just fired, and our machines were in the way as far as we knew. So far, everyone'd checked in except Kira. Cagalli and Athrun took off to find him, but they haven't given us any word.

"Miss Lacus."

"Yes Dacosta?"

"We have a message from Cagalli."

"Let it through."

"Lacus. We found him, but we can't get back. Freedom's cockpit is very damaged, and we can't fit three people in the Strike Rouge. Can you send someone out fast?"

"I'll find someone. But Cagalli, is Kira all right?"

"He'll live." She cut the message and I turned back to Dacosta.

"Open a transmission to the Archangel."

"Yes ma'am"

When the transmission opened, I saw Miriallia and Dearka instead of Murrue-san, and her chair was empty. But I didn't have time to question things.

"Could you get someone out there to get Cagalli, Athrun and Kira please?"

"Yes. We'll send someone out." She said a few words to Dearka, and he ran off fast. "Lacus-san, where are they?" I quickly gave her the coordinates, and she shut down the transmission. I fell back down into my chair, staring out into the black space. A few minutes later, I saw the Buster take off. I never took my eyes off the screen. The minute I saw the Strike Rouge and Buster carrying the Freedom, I took off and quickly got down to the hangar. The minute they were all out, I burst through the door and ran over to them. I threw my arms around Kira's neck, sobbing. He just stood there holding me.

"Don't you ever do that to me again." I muttered.

" I came back. Just like I promised you."

"Thank-you." I whispered. Athrun stepped forwards and put his hand on my shoulder.

" I hate to do this, but Kira, you've got to go up to get checked." I pulled back and nodded. He sighed and took an unstable step. Athrun and Dearka each grabbed one of his arms and slung them over their shoulders before he could take another one. I fell back with Cagalli and we all walked up to the infirmary. The whole way up there I was nervous. My eyes never left Kira's back, as if I was afraid that if I looked away, he'd disappear.

The doctor kept us out for a few moments to check him, then told us we could go in. I was the first one through the door. Everyone hung back a bit, closer to the door. When they saw he was okay, they left us alone. For a moment we just looked at each other, then I blushed and looked away. He grabbed me by the hand and pulled me down until I was sitting on the bed next to him.

"I'm sorry Lacus."

"Kira, you have nothing to apol-" He cut me off by kissing me lightly. When he pulled back, he was smiling.

"Now I do." I laughed and he kissed me again. This time I kissed him back. I felt him put his arms around my waist, and mine slowly encircled his neck.

He pulled back slightly and I heard him whisper, "I love you Lacus."

Note: I know it's quite short, but my mind only seems to function in short pieces of writing.
