Guess Who's the Biggest House Fan Ever?
I walked down stairs at 8:55 on Tuesday to watch my show. I got down there and Rogue was perched on the couch. I walked into the dimly lit room and plopped on the couch next to her. "Hey kid."
"Hello Logan."
"Do you mind if I watch something?"
"Well, I'm watching this already."
I looked to her and gave my best puppy dog eyes. She said no again and I checked my watch. 8:58. I would have to be cunning to get the remote. I saw it in her hand farthest from me. "Hey Marie." She looked away from the TV. I kissed her quickly but passionately. I snatched the remote out of her unresponsive hand and pulled away from the kiss before her mutation could sink in. She looked star struck. I changed the channel to FOX in time for House MD.
"Did you just use me?" She asked accusingly.
"Only a little," I said with a smile.
The episode started and Rogue curled up against my chest. We sat like that until halfway through the episode she said, "That one doctor is in love with House."
I looked over to her and said, "You mean Doctor Cameron?"
"No."
"Doctor Cuddy?"
"No."
"Umm…Nurse Brenda?"
"No."
"Stacey?"
"Who's Stacey?"
What doctor are you talking about?"
"That one." She pointed to a fine-looking brunette walking in unison with Doctor House, holding an X-ray.
"You mean Doctor Wilson!?!"
"Yeah that one."
"But he's a guy!"
"Yeah I know."
"…"
"People can be gay, Logan."
"…"
"I'll be right back," Rogue said as she leapt up energetically. She ran in the direction of the dorms. I continued to watch the episode in peace until Rogue stomped down the stairs, followed by Iceman and Pyro. Just seeing Bobby made me mad. He had torn poor Rogue's heart out when they broke up. He couldn't deal with her mutation. At least that's what he said.
"Logan."
"Shh." I really loved House and it was a good episode. "Wait until the commercial." They stood there next to the couch until the commercials started.
"Logan. I give you exhibit A." She pointed to Iceman and Pyro. They looked at each other for a half a second and then started passionately kissing.
I covered my eyes and shrieked, "Oh dear Lord! GO AWAY." The two boys giggled and ran back up to the dorms. I could feel when Rogue plopped back onto the couch. "Are they gone?"
"Yes Logan. You can open your eyes."
I slowly peeked out from between my fingers. When I took my hands away from my face, Rogue smiled at me.
"You're a homophobe.
"Am not."
"Are too."
I grunted. She fell back against my chest when the show came back from the commercial. I loved when she laid on me. It felt like we were meant to be. The show ended all too soon and I started to reach for the remote when she turned to face me.
"Thanks for the kiss darling. Even if it was just to use me."
"Can I tell you a secret?" I whispered.
"Sure," she squeaked.
"I wasn't using you." She smiled vibrantly. I leaned in and kissed her fervently. We kissed short, sweet kisses so her mutation wouldn't take over. Marie shifted and grabbed the remote. She broke the kiss and turned on Bravo.
"Time for Project Runway!"
I sighed and pulled Marie back against me and we sat like that, content and blissful. We weren't the perfect humans, but together, we were the perfect couple.
We lived happily ever after and thanks to my darling girl, I started to notice Wilson's love for House and House's love for him. And they lived happily ever after too.
