"Come on Andy, you bought your dress weeks ago. You had it altered to fit perfectly." Traci Nash almost whined. She had been trying to convince Andy to go to the police officers ball for three days. "You were so excited to go." Traci continued
Andy's shoulders sagged as she let out a sigh. "That was before everything happened."
"I don't know what happened exactly but you will regret not going sweetie."

Andy stood in a quiet corner of the big banquet hall. She decided to come to the ball after all, spend some time with her friends at least. It's been a rough few weeks. After everything that happened with Ford, Sam getting shot and getting suspended she needed their company. She hasn't spoken to Sam after she saw him in the emergency room and was taken to surgery. She knew he made it through and was released a few days later. He had phoned her a couple of times but she couldn't get herself to answer. That's why it was quite a shock to see him here tonight, in his black suit, looking well. He stayed at his table with Noelle and Frank and didn't move a lot though. Then there was Nick, Nick whose face haunted her, Nick who nominated her to go in and see Sam. When she came out from seeing Sam he had gone but left his vest behind. Chris handed it to her without a word and as her eyes took in the silver writing on the inside of his vest, the place that covered his heart, tears flowed freely. Andy went out looking for him but couldn't find him, she called and left messages but he never answered. It wasn't until two days later, sick with worry, that she went into 15 asking Frank if he knew Nicks where abouts and was told he asked for some personal time. She didn't know what to think, all she knew was that she missed him, more that she thought she would. Seeing him tonight, standing by the bar area, her heart went on a crazy joyride, up into her throat then made a sudden drop towards her stomach.
Nick laughs at something Dov says and Andy finds herself moving towards them. Her mind is blank but her feet keeps dragging her forward, towards Nick. She comes to a halt only feet away. Seeing the look on her face Dov excuses himself and moves away causing Nick to follow his gaze. Nicks smile falters for a second but the light in his eyes are still there, giving Andy hope.
"Hey" Andy hears herself say
"Hi" Nick responds turning towards her. Breaking eye contact for a second Andy takes a deep breath before continuing
"Want to dance?" looking right at Nick. He lets out a sudden laugh and nods "Of course". Taking his hand Andy leads them toward the dance floor. She wraps her arms around his neck and presses herself to his chest. Nick lets his hands rest around her waist, none of them looking anywhere but at each other. As the song changes into a slower, romantic song Andy rests her head on Nicks shoulder.
"I missed you" Andy lets out, her voice heavy with emotion
"I missed you too" he whispers hugging her closer to him
"Don't leave again, ok?"
"I won't, I promise"
