The first time, they came together to forget. That's all it was. The first kiss was made from pain and anguish. A way of closing their minds and souls; a way to prove to themselves they were alive. A way of trying to forget their best friend was not with them anymore and, most of all, a way to forget the guilt; there was so much more they could have done, they failed him in so many ways. They loved him in so many ways. Trying to erase the guilt with fierce kisses and heated words, forgetting everything but each other.
The second time, they came together to remember. Remember that not everything hurts in this life, remember they could love and be loved without pain or guilt surrounding them. And they wanted to remember every moment, every word, every touch and kiss. Remember the way her hair looked framing her face, making her look like an angel. His very own angel. He could easily lose himself in her eyes, and her voice was the only lifeline he needed.
Now though, they only come together to love. Sitting in the dark bedroom he holds her close to his chest and whispers in her ear, "I love you Calleigh." Closing his eyes, his mind drifts back to the one who made this all happen. "I still miss you so much Tim," he whispers into the unrelenting silence.
