I got such a positive response from my last Rick/Kim story that I decided to give you guys another one Let me know if you want more one-shots or a full length story, I'm in the mood to write them!
After it was all over, and Kim and Rick were safely back at CTU waiting for Teri, Rick flopped into a chair at one of the empty desks. The building was practically empty, as it was midnight and people hadn't slept all day. Kim fell asleep on his shoulder, and he rested his chin on her head. Flashing back to when they were prisoners, Rick remembered the last time he had held her.
Rick opened the door into the shed where Kim and her mother Teri were being held. What he found was not what he expected. Teri was missing, and Kim was on the floor in tears, rocking back and forth. Rick ran to her.
"Kim! What's wrong?" Rick pulled her into himself.
"The man, he was going to rape me. My mom went with him instead so that he wouldn't hurt me." Kim sobbed. "Now he's raping her instead and it's my fault!"
"Shhh," Rick shushed her softly. "Listen, your mom loves you more than anything, and she didn't want to see that happen to you. It's not your fault, you didn't force him to do anything. I won't let him touch you, and neither will she."
"I just feel so responsible. I mean what do I have left? I might lose my parents, Janet's lying in the hospital, maybe dying, and I don't feel like I have anyone." Kim cried into his shirt, gripping him tightly, clinging to him for all she was worth.
"You have me. And I promise you, I'm not going anywhere. What I did to you, I didn't want to do. Dan pushed me into this job, and I had no idea what it involved. I'm not trying to make excuses, I know what I did was wrong, but I never meant to hurt you, ever." Rick tilted her face towards him gently. "I love you Kim." With that he pressed his lips to hers ever so gently, and within a second she had responded back. The passion radiated through their kiss, and when he pulled his head away, she curled into him and clutched him. He wrapped his arms tighter around her and whispered into her hair. "We'll get through this beautiful, it will all be okay."
It seemed like so long ago that he had made that promise, even though it wasn't even a day ago. He had only known Kim for a day, and yet he knew that he loved her. She was beautiful in every way. Her stubbornness, her spunk, her resolve to never give up; he found it all enchanting. The way she could fight one minute, and have her emotional side and tears come out the next. The way a curl of her hair always fell in front of her eyes as she brushed it away in annoyance. The way her lips felt against his. Everything he loved about her, and as he held her while she slept, he thought he could hold her like this forever.
At that moment, Jack walked in, carrying Teri in his arms. Tear tracks ran down his worn face, and Kim started awake as Rick moved to get up.
"What happened Daddy? What happened to Mom?" Kim raised her voice in panic. Rick reached out and grabbed her tightly.
"She's dead Kim. Your mother is dead."
