"You want me to do what?"
"Hear me out, Mamushi. Just, run to that shop that's close by and pick us some food."
"Why can't you go?"
"Because…"
"I didn't think you were stupid enough not to have an answer," Kaidou said, "Maybe thinking before you speak would help you."
The two glared at each other, before they both plopped to the floor, arms crossed, glaring at the rain just outside.
"Did you remember to tell your parents that home isn't a viable option until the rain lets up?"
"Of course I did, Mamushi!"
"Then who are you calling now?"
Momoshiro said, "No one!" But he was quick to distance himself as he began to talk on the phone.
He sat back down, grabbing his knees with his hands, clutching them tightly, as if to show his annoyance without really yelling, per se. Then, it hit him.
"Mamushi! Let's have a little competition to decide it, since you just won't go."
"Fine, you're on."
Then started the competition phase, their shouting loud, taunts, constant games that they could manage, all ending in ties.
Both of their stomachs rumbled.
"I'm getting really hungry now! This is your fault!"
"Mine? Fshuuu… lies. You were trying to force me. It's your fault."
"Race ya to the store then!" Momoshiro quickly decided, before he looked at the rain again. Still heavy… this wouldn't be any good. He made a decision – something that still wouldn't bother him, quickly slipping his shirt off.
"What are you doing?" Kaidou asked, frowning, ever so slightly flushing from embarrassment. Honestly, Momoshiro could be such a pain.
"I'd rather have a dry shirt," Momoshiro admitted, stuffing his shirt into his bag.
Kaidou hissed, but decided to follow suit, that reddened face not fading, especially after Momoshiro's laugh and thumbs up. Still it was "fair." Make the race as "even" as possible, because he would beat Momoshiro.
"Ready…"
The two readied themselves, knowing that they really needed to bolt for it, which they could and would do with the energy they had.
"Oh, and Mamushi, when we get to the store, I'm going to need you to call your parents and tell them I'm coming over."
"Figures you would say that." Kaidou said, in English, causing Momoshiro to frown, only picking up parts of it, but it barely made any sense. He really needed to step up on learning. Kaidou then added, "Why?"
"Your house is closest to run to!"
And he took off.
"You're not winning, Momoshiro!" Kaidou shouted, speeding after him.
In the end, they argued in the store over what to buy, since Kaidou brought the most money, and did, in fact, race over to Kaidou's home afterwards, despite how seemingly reluctant Kaidou was on the phone.
