Rebirth
By Sarga
Summary: The powers of a priestess are a tricky thing, really. They can destroy a demon's life so quickly, it's as if they never existed. Except those powers couldn't only be used to destroy...
A/N: This fic was written for the LJ Community InuRomp, prompt 6: Yura/Kagome with a limit of 300 words.
At first Kagome thought nothing of it. She kept Yura's demon-bone comb, cracked and unusable as it was, as a keepsake of sorts. A demented, twisted, murderous keepsake, but a keepsake nonetheless.
It wasn't until one morning when she fingered its smooth shell at the bottom of her bag that she felt the change: the comb had melded back together under her remorseful touch. Kagome's guilt at having to take a life – demonic or otherwise – was relieved upon finding that her keepsake could be put to use. By using Yura's comb, Kagome could honour the memory of what had been a formidable opponent.
So Kagome brought her new comb with her everywhere.
The demon comb, once used on the hair of the dead, and embittered as a result, was now used on the head of a sweet, caring girl who enjoyed her comforts.
Was it any surprise that the demon comb started to emulate its new master?
Kagome thought nothing of the feeling of massaging fingers running through her hair as she used the demonic comb. After all, it was an ensouled item that craved human contact, and who would choose to use such a thing if it was unpleasant? It was only when those fingers – those skilled, soft, meticulous fingers – started straying further down – to ears, throat, shoulders – that Kagome realized it was something more.
Still Kagome did not stop.
Sango wondered why Kagome had started rebuffing her attempts to bathe with her friend. They didn't understand... They couldn't.
When she combed her pubis, the wiry hairs succumbed to the gentle touch of the comb.
Silky strands, fallen from the priestesses own head and nether region, made up the new body of her lover.
With dedicated joy, Yura showed Kagome her gratitude with tongue and finger...
And hair.
As always, reviews are appreciated.
