Yo ppl. This kinda popped into my head this morning so I thought I'd write it down.
Enjoy
Well I swear, it's you and god
We've been down this road before
Again. It's happened again. He swore he wouldn't but it has. He left.
The guilt's no good and
It only shames us more
The first time was bad enough, but this time...what was she supposed to do? She had given him everything. Her life, her sun. And he left.
And the truths that we all try to hide
Are so much clearer when it's not our lives
Had he gone to her? Of course he had. She was like him. Perfection.
And we don't face the blame
Won't you, get on your knees
Believe and this life goes on
How did she go on? How could he leave her? Was it because she wasn't perfect? Yes. She had failed him so he had taken her forever and left. He took the sun from her life and now he'd taken the moon. She screamed to him again.
Now my body's on the floor
And I am calling, well I'm calling out to you
Can you hear me now?
Why doesn't he come? She screamed and screamed till her throat was raw but he didn't come. Of course he didn't come. He was gone. But that was okay. She didn't need him. She didn't need him to come back. She didn't.
Well it's not a rebellion
When your selling out to another fashion salesman
Our promise and lies full of empty promises
He promised her forever. He lied. Again. There was no forever for her. There was no him for her. She was alone. Like before. But now she had no sun and he had perfection. What did he leave her with?
Temptations falling and calling you home again
Well I'm sorry, if we've let you down
She wasn't good enough for him. This she had known from the beginning. Now it came back to bite her. To destroy her. He wasn't coming back. No matter how hard she called him. But that was okay.
Won't you, get on your knees
Belive and this life goes on
Now my body's on the floor
And I am calling, well I'm calling out to you
Well can you hear me now?
Does he know? Does he know what he's done? Does he care? Did he hear my heart break when he left? If he knew she lay broken here, would he come? No.
Now my body's on the floor
And I am calling, well I'm calling out to you
Well can you hear me now?
It's enough for her. She's had enough. She wasn't right for him and he wasn't there for her. He betrayed her. She could see that now. Well that was fine. She didn't need him.
What's wrong? What's wrong? What's wrong?
What's wrong? What's wrong? What's wrong?
Would it hurt him if he knew? Knew that she didn't need him? Was it wrong of her? She didn't care. She would get up and pretend he didn't exist. Because he no longer did.
What's wrong? What's wrong? What's wrong?
What's wrong? What's wrong? What's wrong?
She smiled to herself. She would get up soon. There was no him so there was only her. She would make it work. No one would see through her mask. See her lying broken here, dead because he had taken her life. Even she wouldn't see.
Now my body's on the floor
And I am calling, well I'm calling out to you
Well can you hear me now?
Even if he came back, he wouldn't see. She wouldn't care.
Now my body's on the floor
And I am calling,
The door behind her opens without a sound as she lay there being okay, her mask firmly in place.
Now my body's on the floor
And I am calling,
"I'm back, love."
Now my body's on the floor
She looks up at him uncomprehending. Who is this?
And I am calling, well I'm calling out to you.
"Bella? It's me...Edward."
